According to Sports Illustrated’s Jim Trotter, for San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson is 95% retired. He also added that it would take the right team and situation for him to come back and play.
A San Diego great is on the verge of hanging the cleats up. He is leaving a little crack in the door to step back in, but it is getting close to that time that he walks away.
It would be awesome to have LT back here for one more season as the veteran back behind Ryan Mathews. He would be able to step in on third down and we already know that he has a nose for the end zone when we get down close. He has all kinds of experience in this league and can pass it on to the young backs we have on our roster.
Could we be that right situation?
I don’t know how the rest of the team would welcome him back. He burned some of his bridges on the way out to New York and his return is highly unlikely, but I know there are a lot of fans that would love to see #21 getting one more shot to make big things happen with the powder blues. When has ownership done what the fans want though?
Would you want to see LT back in powder blue for his farewell season?
