The Chargers traded with the Miami Dolphins for the 73rd pick in the draft to select LSU S Brandon Taylor. They traded away their 78th and 183rd pick.

ALl of a sudden AJ recognized picking players from big time programs and with a nice track record! I LOVE IT!

Here is the scouting report from Pro Football Weekly:

Positives:

Very good size — lean, muscular build. Athletic. Reads and reacts. Runs the alley. Good body control and ball skills to play the ball in the air. Consistent intensity. Outstanding personal and football character — well-respected by teammates and coaches. Cares about the game, is coachable and takes care of his body.

Negatives:

Has a cornerback build and lacks bulk. Average speed and leaping ability. Stiff in transition and showed poor agility at the Combine 3-cone drill, clocking a time of 7.32 seconds. Inconsistent physicality and results as a tackler — does not always arrive under control to break down. Has man-cover limitations.

Summary:

A lean, high-cut, try-hard, character player who was LSU’s defensive leader as a senior. Has make-it qualities to stick as a reserve/special-teams player if he tackles more consistently
