Who Do You Want The Chargers Backup Runningback To Be?

We have been waiting a minute for these Bolts to bring in a backup runningback to fill the role that was left by Mike Tolbert.

If we bring back Jacob Hester, does that mean that we are done signing runningbacks? Hester could be used at fullback and we could slide LeRon McClain over to runningback. Or we could just let Hester run the ball, but I like the other idea better.

The better idea is to bring in a veteran back that can take the responsibility of being the lead back when Ryan Mathews goes down with a toe strain. We brought Jackie Battle in, but he left without a contract offer. Ronnie Brown and Justin Forsett would fit in nicely as the veteran also, but it has been quiet.

Maybe, we are just going to focus on bringing in one from the draft. LaMichael James is a popular name around these parts, but he will likely be drafted too high in the draft. Ronnie Hillman has the locals hearts and Chris Rainey has Booga’s heart! All of these guys are in that Darren Sproles mold and shouldn’t be used near the goal line (NOTICE I SAID SHOULDN’T). Should we count on a rookie to take significant snaps and make spot starts? Why not?

We just want to know who will be taking that rock IF/WHEN Ryan goes down!

Who do you all want that back to be?

I already know a few of the votes:Mike Tuck: LaMichael JamesBooga: Chris RaineyErnie: Anyone that is not named Jackie BattleAnyone that went to SDSU: Ronnie HillmanJacob Hester: ME
