Should The Chargers Trade Up In The Draft?

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE
Should we trade up in this year’s draft? We are sitting at spot number 18, but should we try to move up a few picks?
Is there a player in the top 10 that is worthy of this move? Would we want to trade some future draft picks in order to draft a player like Courtney Upshaw? Is Upshaw that much better than Nick Perry or Melvin Ingram to be worthy of moving up?
Upshaw looks like a phenomenal talent but he doesn’t look like he will be available when we select at 18. He would fit nicely at the outside linebacker spot opposite of Shaun Phillips. He has that NASTY demeanor on defense and he looks like he could be inserted into the defense immediately to contribute. Pairing up Upshaw and Phillips on the outside and mixing in Antwan Barnes would be a nice group of pass rushers to get after the quarterback.
Is there any other player that we would try to move up in the draft for? Nick Perry? Melvin Ingram?
The only player that I think we should move up for is Upshaw, but the price tag for that is too high. It sounds like a better option to move down in the draft and pick up more picks.
LB/DE Vinny Curry, LB Vontaze Burfict, S Mark Barron and a boat ton of offensive lineman could be available later in the draft. We just need to find that team that is willing to give up some picks. It would be nice to stock pile of few of these guys together and hopefully get a gem in one of them.
Would you make a move from the 18th spot? Trade up for Upshaw or down for more possibilities?
