Morning Dump

If the Giants had given into the Chargers demands back in 2004, Eli Manning still would be their quarterback and not only would Osi Umenyiora would have been sent to San Diego but Chris Snee would have been somebody else’s second round pick and Thanksgiving wouldn’t have been so much fun around his father-in-law Tom Coughlin’s house.

The San Diego Chargers are apparently heading into the 2012 season without an actual Offensive Coordinator, but earlier this week they hired recently-fired Head Coach of the Colorado State Rams Steve Fairchild to be their “Senior Offensive Assistant/Special Assignments”. I have no idea what that means, but it sounds like he’ll be filling Clarence Shelmons shoes as the inaccurately-titled Running Backs Coach.

One question looming over the San Diego Chargers’ offseason is at Placekicker. Nate Kaeding held the job as one of the most accurate Kickers in the league for seven seasons after being drafted by the Bolts in the 3rd round of the 2004 NFL Draft.

It was a unique experience to see and hear about. It took heart and some courage to stand up to the firing line. But you wonder if the community really believes him?
