It sounds like the Marcus McNeill will be back for another season. He suffered a neck stinger during the season and has had issues with his neck for a while now. Here is the report off of NC Times:

“Based on things that have happened before, the pain went away and I was able to play at 100 percent,” McNeill said. “I feel good about playing well into the future. The doctors feel good about it. My family does, too.”

McNeill said rumors of his possible retirement were overblown.

“I think that was me not being around,” McNeill said. “People couldn’t get a vibe on how I was feeling and that I was going to be fine. I needed to take some time to myself and just evaluate everything. I’m back now and believe I’ll be better than ever.” – NC Times

Even with McNeill coming back, we need to make sure to re-sign Jared Gaither. Gaither has been AWESOME in relief for McNeill and he could fight for a starting job over at right tackle with Jeromey Clary next season OR he could be used as the backup. I blame Jared Gaither for saving Norv’s job, but I love what he has done for us!
