Chargers vs Raiders: Notes

Here are just a few notes that I had on the game:

  • The Raiders will beat themselves. They are known for drawing those  little yellow hankies from the refs. We have to  take advantage of those extra yards and those extra first downs.
  • The Oakland defense has been awful this year. They are ranked 27th overall on defense, 20th against the pass and 29th against the rush. Willis McGahee and Tim Tebow ran the ball up and down that D last weekend. Our offensive line needs to make some big holes for Ryan Mathews and Mike Tolbert so that they can break off big chunks of yards.
  • Carson Palmer averages an interception per quarter. We need to keep forcing him to make bad throws and hopefully Eric Weddle will get his hands on the ball to make the interception. The other defensive backs on the team need to start contributing in the interception category as well. The only other defensive back that has an interception is Marcus Gilchrist with ONE.
  • The Chargers need to keep the aerial assault going with that deep ball to Vincent Jackson. The Raiders have been burned by the deep ball and VJ is coming off of his best game of the season. Keep targeting him!
