Chris Harris Released by Bears, Chargers Could be Interested

The Chicago Bears released safety Chris Harris today. Harris had been benched earlier in the season and had asked for a trade. Instead, the Bears decided to let him go.
According to Kevin Acee, the Chargers could have interest in the safety, but he would have to get through waivers and drop to us. There may be a couple of teams that could possibly claim him before us. One of those teams is our division rival Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs lost Eric Berry for the season and could be looking to add more depth.
As for the Bolts, we lost Bob Sanders earlier in the year and it forced Steve Gregory to the starting lineup. Harris could compete for the starting role alongside Eric Weddle. Harris is a big hitter and could be a nice play maker to add to our secondary. Hopefully he drops to us and we take advantage of the opportunity.
