Morning Dump

By Ernie Padaon

Doesn’t it feel like forever since the last time we played some football!? Tomorrow we will be back at it again though and I CAN’T WAIT!!! The top article on this dump is from Chicken Friars and they are looking for some writers. I used to run that site, but needed to put all my focus over here. Check out the link and if you LOVE the Padres, jump in and join our team!

Enjoy your dump:

The 2011 season has been a little more difficult for the Padres faithful to endure than 2010. Since the playoffs are out of the question in San Diego, the focus will shift immediately from the regular season to the Hot Stove season. Now that Ernie’s focus has moved over to our Chargers site, Bolt Beat, we are in need of some talented writers to help us provide Padres coverage.

Rather than letting Sunday’s MetLife Stadium showdown simply be billed as a rematch of a two-year-old AFC Divisional Round playoff between the San Diego Chargers and New York Jets, the home team’s quotable head coach managed to lob a verbal grenade in the direction of his counterpart.

SAN DIEGO — The term “Revis Island” has real meaning. It’s a catchy way of saying receivers covered by Darelle Revis stand no chance of being involved in the offense, but it has more depth to it than that.

Rex Ryan has coached in two AFC championship games, so, no, Sunday’s game between his New York Jets and the San Diego Chargers isn’t the biggest of his career. It’s just the latest biggest game of his career, nearly as important as any playoff contest. And no one realizes that more than Rex.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The New York Jets will likely have the services of center Nick Mangold on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. But defensive tackle Mike DeVito may be sidelined.
