Happy Friday… Travel day for the team and they are headed out to New York.

The Jets’ brash coach created a coast-to-coast stir when he said he would’ve won a few Super Bowl rings if he had been hired as the Chargers’ coach in 2007. Well, that job went to Norv Turner, who’s still trying to win a ring himself and certainly doesn’t need anyone else pointing out his shortcomings.

LaDainian Tomlinson will get his first start of the season Sunday when the New York Jets host his former team, the Chargers.

“I think I would have had a couple of rings,” said Ryan, who interviewed for the Chargers coaching job in 2007, when opining on San Diego’s recent teams — the last five coached by Norv Turner. “I’m telling you, those teams were loaded. There’s no question about it.”

As the Jets prepare for Sunday’s game against the Chargers — Cromartie’s first against his old squad — the six-year veteran issued some serious blows to the integrity of the organization that employed him for four seasons.

At his best, he is a physical, ball-hawking cornerback who uses his size to his advantage. At his worst, he is prone to penalties and sometimes gets lost in coverage.
