Last week: The Jets beat the hapless Miami Dolphins 24-6 on Monday night to snap a three-game losing streak. The Jets were outgained by Miami, but the Dolphins are so bad that a victory was assured to go New York’s way.
The fact that Raiders responded to Jason Campbell’s broken collarbone by acquiring Carson Palmer from Cincinnati for a first-round pick and a second-round pick that can become a first-round pick, shows they mean business and they think they can make serious noise in the AFC this year.
The Oakland Raiders are making a serious run at the AFC West. The silver and black are mortaging their future to stay relavent and competitive within the division following Sunday’s injury to quarterback Jason Campbell.
With Carson Palmer moving to Oakland, the Raiders suddenly become a trendy playoff pick. They can run. They can pass. They can play defense. They can win.
Oct 18, 2011 – Antonio Gates, who hasn’t played since Sept. 18 due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot, returned to practice Monday for the Chargers. He’s missed three games, and also had the benefit of last weekend’s bye-week for additional rest. He’s pleased with the progress that he’s made but acknowledged that he’s yet to truly test the injury. From the Associated Press:
