Chargers vs Chiefs: Hot N’ Cold

It sure seems that there were more cold players in the game than there were hots. We barely squeak by a team like that and it is not easy to point out all the goods in the game. Here are my Katy Perry’s for the week:
HOTRyan MathewsFinally we started giving this guy the carries AND he produces! He took the goal line carries as well and found the end zone twice! That is what we wanted all along from our back and we look forward to what he will do for the rest of the year.
Donald ButlerLeading the team in tackles and looked good in coverage. The rookie will make some mistakes, but he is making some plays right now!
Eric WeddleSometimes it is better to be lucky than good. Weddle put himself in the perfect spot to seal the win! He read the screen pass and luckily Matt Cassel threw the ball right at him.
COLDPhilip RiversAll kinds of talk this week to figure out what is wrong with our quarterback. Is he hurt? Is he happy? Is it the line? 2 more interceptions added to his stat sheet this week and he is on pace to throw 32 interceptions this year! Of course those numbers will change, but that doesn’t hide the ugliness at the start of the season.
InjuriesAnother game and the injury report keeps stacking players upon players on it. Quentin Jammer, Antonio Garay and Jacques Cesaire all had to leave the game with issues. The backups stepped up and played well, but this seems to happen every year. Why is our team so injury prone?
FumblesNone of them were taken away, but we are giving the opposing team opportunities. 2 more fumbles in the game on Sunday and one ping ponged its way all over the field before we picked it up. When will we learn to hold onto the ball?!?
