Morning Dump

Today’s dump is all about the cuts that were made yesterday and that addition of Na’il Diggs. We will be learning on which guys are added to our practice squad later today, so stay tuned for that/
Enjoy your dump:
SAN DIEGO – Televisions in the Chargers’ team hotel have a limited number of channels, but not few enough to calm an anxious Darryl Gamble on the eve of the team’s final cuts.
The young receiver and kick returner, who won over the faithful and, obviously, the Chargers’ decision makers with a brilliant training camp and preseason, will begin his NFL career Sept. 11 when the Chargers host the Minnesota Vikings.
The San Diego Tribune put out an interesting nugget. It says it’s no sure thing that undrafted rookie quarterback Scott Tolzien will make it onto the San Diego Chargers’ practice squad. The paper thinks he could be claimed.
The team kept 11 linebackers on the 53-man roster, which includes Na’il Diggs, who was signed Saturday. Diggs is expected to provide depth inside, which is also the rationale for keeping Stephen Cooper. It is possible that one or both are not on the roster by the middle of the month as the team continues to scour the scrap heap for linebackers.
Diggs started 12 games at outside linebacker last season. The Chargers plan to move him inside, where he had played before.
