Game 2 was an absolute success as the Chargers beat the Cowboys 20-7
Philip Rivers was 8/11 with 92 yards and 1 TD. That makes Rivers 13/17 with 179 yards and 2TD’s throughout this pre-season. Good numbersby our beloved QB.
Ryan Mathews had a good 2nd game as he ran for 35 yards upon 7 carries with 1 TD. As long as he stays healthy this could be a good year for the sophmore back out of Fresno St.
Vincent Jackson had 3 rec for 49 yards, which gets him 5 rec with 103 yards this pre-season.
Players that stood out to me:
Vaughn Martin: Vaughn’s presence was definitely felt as he led the team with 4 tackles and 2 sacks. If he keeps this up, look for Martin to get a lot more playing time this season.
Eric Weddle: The $ man had a nice game getting 2 tackles and 2 assisted with 1 INT off of Tony Romo.
Randy McMichael: McMichael was the starting TE with Antonio Gates resting the heel injury. Randy had 3 receptions for 24 yards with a nice 10 yard TD pass from Rivers.
Corey Liuget: TOO LIUGET 2 Quit!!! Corey definitely brought the pressure this game! He only had 1 tackle, but it was a sack/forced fumble, which was recovered by San Diego! looking forward to seeing this guy play again!
