Chargers vs Cowboys: First Half Quick Reaction

Watching the first half of the Bolts game against the Cowboys and here are some quick notes and a quick reaction out of it:

Mike Tolbert reminded us of some of the fumbling issues of last season, when he put the ball on the floor in the red zone. We can’t have that happen, especially when we are about to put points on the board. The rushing offense was not looking pretty, but it was bailed out when Ryan Mathews made a sweet looking run for the score.

The rushing defense allowed Felix Jones to run right over them. Donald Butler was nowhere to be seen. The pass rush was missing throughout the game as well. It didn’t help that Shaun Phillips took the night off and Antonio Garay was out after the first series.

Malcom Floyd went down with a concussion and didn’t return to the game. We can never have too many receivers on the team. Patrick Crayton wanted to make noise against his old team, but he started out the game with a dropped pass.

Richard Goodman looks good returning kicks and shows that he can make plays on offense as well.

Where was Darryl Gamble? Oh yea, he was the guy that missed the tackle in the backfield on Felix Jones. Hope he can pick it up in the second half.
