Eric Weddle Is Back, But He Is Getting Paid Like He Is Troy Polamalu

I was all for bringing back Eric Weddle to play in the secondary, but then I heard the price tag. Weddle will be the highest paid safety in the NFL! He is signing a 5-year deal worth $40 million and $19 million of that is guaranteed.
We do this all for Weddle and we have a dominant player like Vincent Jackson working on a year-to-year basis. Weddle is a solid player, but he is not an impact player! He is not an Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu type player!
Weddle drops interceptions that hit him right in the hands. He gets plowed over big running backs like Shonn Greene and Jamaal Charles made him look like a fool last year. You don’t pay top dollar for players that are just solid.
Weddle will need to step up and earn that dollar, because right now it feels like we were robbed. PLUS, we all would rather see that money going to VJ!
