M80 Almost Certainly Will Play Elsewhere

According to Kevin Acee, Malcom Floyd has played his final game in a Chargers jersey. M80 is a playmaker but had been bothered by injuries in his career. If VJ signs his franchise tag, then we would have a depth chart that would look like this if they don’t bring anyone else in:

Vincent JacksonPatrick CraytonVincent BrownSeyi AjirotutuRichard Goodman

With Malcom signing over to another team, I wonder if this opens up the door for a possible trade with Carolina to bring in Steve Smith to start opposite of VJ. Or could we be in the market for another veteran wide receiver that is on the market?

I like Crayton, Brown, and Tutu, but I don’t really see them as starters at this time in their career. I know that Philip Rivers can make them look good, but Crayton and Brown are probably best in the slot at this time and Tutu still has some growing to do. We should hit the market to bring in somebody to at least give some competition for the starting position.

Who do you think the Bolts should go after? Or do you think they should stick with this group of receivers?
