Chargers Malcom Floyd: Will He Stay Or Will He Go?

What is going to happen with M80? As soon as this lockout is over, he will become an unrestricted free agent and there are teams that will be interested in him. CBS Sports already is linking Malcom Floyd with the New England Patriots in a free agency move that “makes too much sense”.

The Bolt family already know what we have in Malcom and we would HATE to lose him. He is a reliable option for Philip to go to deep. He has great hands and can get up to catch the balls in the middle of traffic. He makes plays!

The drawbacks to M80 is that he will be turning 30 years old and he has a history of injury problems. We have a lot of people that we need to bring back and we can’t let Malcom get lost in the mix. He benefits from our aerial offensive attack and his numbers might start to drop on another team.

If he leaves in free agency, we would have VJ (assuming fanchise tag is there) and Patrick Crayton as the starting receivers and Vincent Brown would probably work in at the slot. Seyi Ajirotutu would definitely get a bigger opportunity to play and may challenge for playing time also. OR we can just bring in Steve Smith or another veteran receiver that is available on the market.
