Chargers Practice, $1 Hot Dogs and Free Parking… OH MY!

By Mike Emmons

If you can say that 10 times fast I’ll give you a virtual high five!

TODAY the Chargers are having their first open practice of the season from 7:00 – 9:20pm! Parking is free and hot dogs are only $1! The San Diego Chargers will be working hard for this seasons first pre-season game against the Seahawks on Aug. 15th. The first game of the regular season will be against the Raiders on Monday, Sept. 14th.

Head on down to Qualcomm stadium to see the open practice! The parking lot opens at 5:00pm (plenty of time for tailgating!) and the gates open at 6:00pm.

There will not be an autograph session after Wednesdays practice, however, you will be able to get autographs at Chargers Fanfest 2009 on Aug. 8. Kids between the ages of 14 and under can get their autographs beginning at 10:15am.

Chargers Fanfest 2009, sponsored by Bud Light, will take place at Qualcomm Stadium on Saturday beginning with the autograph session at 10:15 and practice immediately after from 11-1 p.m. Parking and admission are free. The parking lot will open at 8 a.m. and stadium gates at 9:30 a.m. FanFest will showcase the debut performance of the 2009 Charger Girls and the debut of the 2008 season Charger highlight film, followed by an opportunity for autographs for all ages. Free interactive games will be located on the plaza concourse and concession stands will be selling hot dogs and soft drinks for $1.00 each! I’m going to try to hit my 20 hot dog’s record!

The final public practice is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 12 at Qualcomm, again from 7:00-9:20 p.m. There will NOT be an autograph session at this practice. Parking and admission are free and concession stands will again be selling hot dogs for $1.00 each.
