I’d like to take a moment to say Happy Veterans Day to all of the veterans that have helped ensured the safety of this country for many, many years.

I am able to sit here and write this article while preparing to watch NFL football this Sunday because of the opportunities afforded me by the armed forces of the United States of America.

I am very proud to be an American and I can’t say how proud I am of our military for putting their lives on the line for all of us each and every day.

I implore all of you to take a moment to call a family member, friend, etc. that is a veteran and thank them for the service that they have provided for this country.

If you happen to see a veteran while out and about today, please take a second and shake their hand and thank them for all that they have sacrificed.

I think too many of us take for granted the liberties we have that we would not if we did not have people laying their lives on the line for us. Our servicemen and women have done so for hundreds of years and will continue to do so for years to come.

My note to all Veterans:

I thank you for everything you do, and have done, for my family, my friends, and this country that I love. It can’t be overstated how thankful I am and I promise you that I will never take your service for granted. And for this service I salute you.

With the utmost pride and respect,

Dave Peters

P.S. That, of course, goes for you too, dad. Thank you so much and I’m very proud to be the son of a Marine.
