Mandatory Credit: Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

The San Diego Chargers have set up an interview with Syracuse Head Coach Doug Marrone for next week (Jason LaCanfora). Marrone took over the struggling program a few years ago and has brought them to a bowl game twice since taking over. He still only has an overall record of 25-25 as their head coach.

He is getting interest around the league because his offensive background and his experience in the NFL as an offensive coordinator. He led the New Orleans Saints offense under Sean Payton from 2006-2008. He has had interviews with the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills already and has scheduled interviews with the Philadelphia Eagles and us.

The Chargers have been all over the map with the rumored head coaching candidates. They have strong offensive minds like Bruce Arians and Marrone on the radar, then we also hear defensive names like Lovie Smith and Jim Mora mentioned. I have a feeling that people will complain about our head coach, no matter who we hire.
