Exactly one month from today, the Chargers will open up their preseason schedule against the Green Bay Packers on ESPN. It will be a meaningless game, but we will still have our eyes glued on the team to see how players like Melvin Ingram, Jarret Johnson, Robert Meachem and Eddie Royal look in their new uniforms. We will want to see how Ryan Mathews is running and also want to see if Antonio Gates looks healthy.

We are one month away!!! Let the countdowns begin!

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Green Bay Packers will be releasing S Nick Collins. Collins had neck surgery and head coach Mike McCarthy is not comfortable letting Collins back on the field unless it is completely safe for him to play.

Before you wonder why I am writing about the Green Bay Packers, let’s just talk about how this affects our Bolts. We are not going to sign Nick Collins, but the Pack will now be looking to draft a safety. With a late pick in the first round, the name Harrison Smith might still be on the board and I know that there are a bunch of Bolt heads that would love to see Harrison in blue and gold.

There were already other teams later in the first that considered Harrison, but it seems more and more likely that Smith will not be available with that second round pick. We either need to trade back up into the first round to get him OR we just take him with the 18th pick overall. What to do?!
