He will miss the final two games and that opens up a spot in the starting lineup at receiver. Which one of the guys should get that opportunity to start next to Danario Alexander?

Micheal Spurlock is probably the next man up on the depth chart, but he has been successful working out of the slot. Should he just move into the starting role and have Eddie Royal work back in the slot (if he is healthy)? This will probably be the move that Norv makes, but there definitely are other options.

Robert Meachem has been in the dog house. He hasn’t been able to get on the same page with Philip Rivers and has slipped down to the bottom of the depth chart. This could be his second chance. He is getting paid like a starting receiver and was expected to be the guy. Now he can try and work his way back into the good graces of the offense. Two final games to see if he can contribute on this team.

Mike Willie is the new kid on the roster, but was everyone’s preseason favorite. He has the size that Philip Rivers likes to throw to and could make an impact. Meachem hasn’t shown that he can do it with his opportunities, might as well see if the rookie can make an impact on the team for next season.

Who would you like to see starting next to Danario Alexander?

Mandatory Credit: Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Another week and a few more players hit the IR. This time it is Malcom Floyd, Ryan Mathews and newly signed Reggie Wells. With Malcom Floyd out, the Chargers signed rookie WR Mike Willie to the team. Willie impressed in preseason and is another big target that Philip Rivers can lob the ball to. With Floyd out, it will be interesting to see who the Chargers use in the starting lineup at receiver. Micheal Spurlock could be the starter and Mike Willie could even move ahead of Robert Meachem. Meach has been in the dog house.

The team also signed Damik Scafe to the roster. Scafe is a defensive end from Boston College that was on the practice squad.

Who do you think should start at receiver opposite of Danario Alexander? I wouldn’t mind throwing the rookie in there immediately.
