The Chargers current backup quarterback, Billy Volek, may be looking to test the free agency market to see if he can get a starting gig somewhere else and the Bolts would need to start looking at some possible replacements through the draft or free agency. They met with possible draft pick, Virginia Tech QB Tyrod Taylor, prior to his pro day. Under the current structure of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, the San Diego Chargers placed tenders offers on 10 of their restricted free agents. The Bolts will be able to continue negotiating rights on the players.

Malcom Floyd received a 1st and 3rd Round tender and Eric Weddle received a 1st Round tender. Antwan Applewhite, Jeromey Clary, and Mike Tolbert each received 2nd round offers. Dante Hughes received a 3rd Round offer, Antwan Barnes and Paul Oliver received 4th Round offers, and Brandon Siler received a 7th Round offer.

Brandyn Dombrowski was an exclusive rights free agent and was also tendered.

When a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is in place, Applewhite, Dombrowski and Tolbert may be the only players that are restricted free agents.

It will be interesting to see if any team attempts to sign “Tank” Tolbert. He was given a 2nd Round tender and a team in search of a starting running back may be willing to pay that price.

Legedu Naanee, Darry Beckwith, Billy Latsko, Ryan Neill and Pat Watkins were not offered tenders and will become free agents. Naanee is the most notable name of the list, but he became expendable with Patrick Crayton and Seyi Ajirotutu already on the roster. Naanee also ran into some issues with the law in Indianapolis earlier in the off-season.

Ogemdi Nwagbuo and James Holt signed contracts and will be wearing the blue and yellow next season.

First off, it is never good when one of your players is on Deadspin or TMZ. San Diego Chargers WR Legedu Naanee found himself on Deadspin on this lovely Valentines day, apparently he was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest in Indianapolis.

According to the police report, Naanee had walked into a homicide crime scene being managed by two officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. An officer stopped Naanee and asked him to leave. The police say Naanaee resisted and asked, “Why are you being an a**hole?” Naanee — who had “a strong order of an alcoholic beverage, on or about his breath and person” — was soon placed under arrest. As an officer attempted to clap handcuffs on him, Naanee “began to actively pull away”:

After several attempts to gain control of him, I delivered one 2 second burst of Pepper spray to his face. After being sprayed Mr. Naanee continued to resist by actively pulling away and tucking his hands, so we could not get control of him. Mr. Naanee was then placed on the ground and continued to resist arrest by pulling his hands under his body. I continuously told Mr. Naanee to stop resisting and delivered two knee strikes to his right side.

Handcuffed, Naanee was taken to the medics on the scene and informed that he was under arrest for public intoxication and resisting arrest. Naanee then said to the officer, “Do you know who I am?” and added, “I am an NFL player and I am going to sue your a**.” A man whom the cop believed to be Naanee’s agent approached the car and told him he “was going to ruin [Naanee's] career.” – Deadspin

Legs just was in the news a few months ago for some shenanigans he was caught up in at Bar West in PB. He was let off on those charges and will look to find a way off of these charges as well.

So Legedu Naanee asks, “Do you know who I am?” That is kind of funny since the rest of San Diego is trying to remember who he was. He keeps finding himself in trouble with the law and on the injury reports. Does anyone outside of San Diego even know who he is?
