Everybody will be watching listening to how the Chargers Special Teams coverage units play this weekend. The Arizona Cardinals have a dangerous return man on kick returns and ranked 8th in kick return average. They are second to last in punt return average.

There is one player to be watching on their special teams squad:

Larod Stephens-Howling – Howling is averaging 27.1 yards per kick return and took one to the house last weekend versus the Oakland Raiders for 102 yards. He also returned a kick last season for 99 yards for a TD.

OVERVIEW: The Chargers have made significant changes to the special teams units. They signed a couple of people for their special teams play with Quinton Teal and Kion Wilson. They also have a couple of the starters that will step up and play some special teams to help out. Quentin Jammer, Eric Weddle, and Brandon Siler are expected to join the special teams. The Chargers allowed Leon Washington to return 2 TDs last week and have been getting a lot of heat for their poor play. Jammer says that they will not allow it to happen again as long as he is on the squad. Let’s see what they can do this week.
