The first of the annual series of releases before training camp have gone through. Four Chargers, two that were returning players and two rookies, have been cut so far and you can expect a few more before the depth charts get finalized.

As of now, safety Kevin Ellison, defensive tackle Ian Scott, fullback Cory Jackson, and wide receiver Jordyn Jackson.

Ellison, may not be much of a surprise considering his recent prescription drug charges and the drafting of Darrell Stuckey, who is faster and will definitely be an upgrade at the position if he can beat out Steve Gregory for the starting job. Expect these two to compete and compete well for that role.

It can also be said that Ian Scott was no surprise. After we drafted Cam Thomas, who is much bigger and more adept to play at that nose tackle position that was left behind by Jamal Williams. Maybe Scott will go start an Anthrax cover band.

Both Jordyn Jackson and Cory Jackson were un-drafted rookies that couldn’t seem to make a big enough case at their positions to keep them around. Both of their positions are stacked and this kind of thing is going to be necessary in the coming weeks.

Who do you think will be next on the block? Hit up the comment box with your ideas.
