Brandyn Dombrowski has to miss the first full-squad practice with a foot injury and could be placed on the PUP list (SDUT). There is a lot of competition in camp at all positions, so Dombro needs to work his way back out onto the field to prove his worth. While he is on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list, he would not count against the 90-man roster and the Chargers would be able to add another player.

Dombrowski struggled to replace Marcus McNeill at left tackle last season and was going to compete for a backup role at guard. He has the ability to help out at tackle if needed, but last season was a mess.

UPDATE: Dombrowski is expected to miss all of training camp with a cyst on his foot. Looks like the foot injuries are already hitting, Larry English and Antonio Gates BEWARE.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: He has been place on the IR list.

FINAL UPDATE (I HOPE):

According to Chargers PR, Brandyn Dombrowski has not been placed on any reserve list as reported earlier. #sdtc12

He didn’t pass his physical!

Kirby Lee/Image of Sport-US PRESSWIRE

Everyone wants to write in Tyronne Green as the instant replacement for Kris Dielman on the offensive line. He stepped in for Dirty Diel last season and did well in the starting lineup.

Green was taken in the fourth round of the 2009 draft out of Auburn. He started 8 games last season and started another 7 games the season before. It sounds like he has put in a lot of work this offseason and he wants to take over that starting role.

Going into training camp, Green will be given every opportunity to be the starter on the left side. He will be given competition from Brandyn Dombrowski though.

Dombo did awful filling in at left tackle last season, but he still seems capable at left guard. He has been on the roster since 2009 also, after signing as an undrafted free agent out of SDSU. He has started 15 games for the team all over the line.

This will be one of the battles in camp to keep your eyes on. We don’t have the anchor in Kris Dielman on the roster anymore, so the starting gig is up for grabs. Who will be the starter going into the season?
