<p>There is some love coming out of Chargers training camp and from the fans about <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/ClarJe20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Jeromey Clary</a></strong> moving over to right guard and how it would be a better fit for him. It probably is a better fit for Clary, but let me pose this hypothetical question to you.</p>
<p>Would you trade Jeromey Clary for <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MoorBr20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Brandon Moore</a></strong>?</p>
<p>Even better&#8230; Would you trade Jeromey Clary, <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RoyaEd00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Eddie Royal</a></strong>, LeRon McClain for Brandon Moore, <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/StarMa21.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Max Starks</a></strong> and a little more depth around the roster?</p>
<p>It makes too much sense! I don&#8217;t know why Brandon Moore is still available, but the fact that he is means that we have a chance to add more protection for <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RivePh00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Philip Rivers</a></strong>. Moore is one of the top run blocking guards out there and he would be able to line up next to big DJ Fluker to plow over some people like <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PhilSh20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Shaun Phillips</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MillVo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Von Miller</a></strong>. Now that sounds like a much better option than hoping that Clary or <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/TrouJo00.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Johnnie Troutman</a></strong> can cut it.</p>
<p>I understand people want to see Troutman be the starting guard, but you don&#8217;t just hand a 5th round pick the starting job without him ever playing a snap in the NFL. Make him earn it and until then he can get some experience behind a player like Brandon Moore.</p>
<p>On June 1, the Chargers can save even more dough on the salary cap by cutting these guys. Cutting Jeromey Clary alone on the 1st would free up $4M instead of $2.3M. Eddie Royal would free up another $3M and LeRon McClain would free up an extra $2M+. That is up around $9M+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</p>
<p>Moore probably wants $3-4M and Starks probably around $2-3M. If you want that protection for Philip Rivers, then cutting Clary and those other dudes just makes sense.</p>

Don&#8217;t let that one incident be your only judgement of the man.</p>
<p>Or actually do! Who likes Mark Sanchez anyway? Plus, he had his man blocked on that play!</p>
<p><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-m3kbwm0C4k" frameborder="0" width="600" height="338"></iframe></p>
<p>Moore is one of the best offensive guards available in free agency and he won&#8217;t be asking <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/L/LeviAn20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Andy Levitre</a></strong> money. Moore is getting up there in age, but still should have a few good years left.</p>
<p>With <strong><a href="http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/V/VasqLo20.htm?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltbeat.com" target="_blank">Louis Vasquez</a></strong> testing free agency, the Chargers better have these other free agents on the dial this weekend. If Tom Telesco wants to truly build his team through the draft, then Brandon Moore is the type of player he would go after in free agency.</p>
<p>Moore won&#8217;t break the bank and he can hold down the position for a couple of seasons until we can draft a replacement. Moore would be perfect for what the team needs. He was a Pro Bowler a couple of seasons ago (even though everyone makes the Pro Bowl) and can be a force in the pass and run game.</p>
<p>Sign the vet to play right guard and we can then worry about the left guard and the left tackle spot after. Goodbye Vasquez. Things are going to get moving soon.</p>

<p>The Chargers are still adding ANYBODY to the roster that can help them out on special teams. He has not played in an NFL game since 2007 and has been playing in the United Football League since. All six of his seasons were with the San Francisco 49ers and had a team high 22 tackles for special teams in 2004. </p>
