The Chargers led 23-10 at the half and dominated the Broncos statistically. Denver’s lone touchdown came via a 55-yard interception return. Tim Tebow came on for an ineffective Kyle Orton in the second half and led the Broncos to a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns, but the Chargers’ defense prevented a third in the game’s final seconds as the Bolts hung on for the win.

There has been ongoing debate on concussions and the game of football. We won’t get too much into that debate on this post, but we will let you know that Junior Seau’s family will allow scientists to study Junior Seau’s brain (North County Times). They want to study his brain for evidence of some damage as a result of concussions.

“The family was considering this almost from the beginning, but they didn’t want to make any emotional decisions. And when they came to a joint decision that absolutely this was the best thing, it was a natural occurrence for the Seau family to go forward.” – Chaplain Shawn Mitchell told the LA Times

There will sure be some curious eyes to see the results of that study. The family has not decided who will be conducting the study yet. Those details will be sorted out as time goes on. According to Sports Illustrated, Boston University has asked to study Seau’s brain as part of its research on athletic head trauma as it relates to long-term mental health.
