Outside linebacker Antwan Applewhite was arrested on Friday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence. According to 10 news, Applewhite was pulled over at 2:23 am down in PB and was given a DUI eval. He was then arrested after the evaluation.

The Chargers released this statement:

It’s disappointing to hear about the issue involving Antwan Applewhite. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and let the legal process run its course.”

It definitely is disappointing to hear that another Chargers player was arrested for driving under the influence. We are supposed to have high character players on this team and there is a program that the players can use to get a ride if they needed. Maybe the program is not active with the lockout… who knows.

It was supposed to be Larry’s turn last year when we let go of Lights Out, but he was slowed down with injuries and never got a chance to shine. Antwan Applewhite had to take over the position with Larry sitting on the sideline and Merriman sporting Buffalo colors. (more…)
