“Just draft anyone from that Alabama offensive line. Draft the whole offensive line if you can! We need people to protect Philip Rivers.” People have been saying that during the whole college football season and there is plenty reason to say that.

Alabama OG Chance Warmack will get consideration with our 11th pick and Alabama OL Barrett Jones could get consideration with our second round pick, if he even slides that far.

Another Alabama lineman is making noise during Senior Bowl weigh ins today. Alabama OT DJ Fluker measured in at 6’4 7/8 and 355 pounds. His arms measured in at 36 3/8 inches. We know how much arm length can make you rise and fall in the draft. Fluker has some big boy arms.

Fluker played right tackle for the Crimson Tide and has declared for the 2013 NFL draft. He is eligible to play in the Senior Bowl because he graduated early while being on campus for four seasons.

He did come in 20 pounds over his listed weight and an inch shorter. We will keep our eyes on him during the Senior Bowl practices and through the combine.

Alabama CB Dee Milliner has decided to turn pro and will enter the 2013 NFL draft. Milliner will likely be the first cornerback selected in the draft and could be a top-10 selection.

With a couple of the offensive tackle prospects deciding to go back to school, Milliner could be a possibility with the 11th pick.

There still is a lot of movement that will take place with the coaching staff and the roster, but Milliner’s name should remain on the radar. Corner is not our biggest priority, but we could try and fill some holes with free agency.

The latest 2013 Fansided NFL Mock Draft has been released and here is who they have the Chargers selecting:

8. San Diego Chargers – Dee Milliner, Cornerback, Alabama
Milliner is the clear number one cornerback prospect in this draft. Milliner could have gone to Detroit just a pick earlier, so if he remains on the board it would be the pick San Diego needs to make. Two of the Chargers top defensive backs will become free agents after the season and they can ill afford to allow a top talent like Milliner slip through their fingers.

Milliner may be the top corner in the draft, but is he the biggest need at this point on the roster? In years past, the cornerback position was a big big need for the team, but their are bigger areas that the Chargers will need to focus on.

Both starting corners are free agents, but I see the Bolts bringing back at least one of them. Quentin Jammer is someone I can see the Bolts riding out till the end of his career. Antoine Cason has played much better than last season and should be brought back. Shareece Wright would be next man up and we can take a chance on him as a starter. He will make his share of mistakes, but again there are other areas of need.
