Top NFL draft prospect Kevin White says that Jason Verrett was the toughest corner that he has played against in college.

NFL Draft prospect Kevin White is expected to be the 2nd wide receiver taken off of the board next week during the NFL draft in Chicago. He is one of the top talents entering into the league and he talked about some of the top corners that he has played during his college career and listed Chargers CB Jason Verrett as the best that he has ever played against.

Q: Since you’ve been at West Virginia, you’ve matched up against some talented corners like Justin Gilbert and Jason Verrett. Who is the toughest cornerback you’ve faced in your career?A: Verrett. Very quick. Gets out of his break very fast, beats you to the ball. He’s little, but physical.

Verrett was selected by the Chargers in the first round last season and showed a ton of potential when he got the chance to play last season. He was slowed with injuries during the season and that will be the biggest concern for him during his career. He will be entering this season as the starter for the Chargers at corner with Brandon Flowers on the other side. This will be the best pair of corners on the Chargers that we have had in a long time.

We look forward to Verrett locking down some of the top talent in the NFL this season. He has the potential to be one of the best in the game. He just needs to be on the field in order to make it happen.

Verrett is going to be a big time player for the Chargers defense. His ability to lock down some receivers will help the guys up front get that little extra time to get after quarterbacks. Melvin Ingram and Jerry Attaouchu will have that extra half second to get that sack and make a big time play.

Can’t wait to see what players we add to this team on offense and defense. If we can add a top defensive player to this team, we should have a solid group of young players that can make some big plays.
