All the fans that are pulling this San Diego Chargers bandwagon will say that Keenan Allen will be the best wide receiver in the league. I think he can be the best wide receiver in the league, but I can’t put him at that spot yet. If we are talking about top-5 though, then I can get behind that statement. Some people are worried about a sophomore slump, but I can’t see that happening.
The top receivers in the game are Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant, A.J. Green, Demaryius Thomas and whoever you can argue up there. I can’t say that Allen will be Megatron, but I don’t see what he couldn’t get to the level of Dez or Demaryius this season.
Allen works with Philip Rivers in an offense that is looking to get the ball out quick. Keenan Allen specializes in getting off of the line and creating space quickly. The pairing is perfect. As a rookie, Allen finished with 1,046 yards and 8 touchdowns and that was while watching most of the first quarter of the year.
Now he has that whole year to look back on and a whole offseason of work to prepare for this year. His talent already had are jaws to the ground and he should be even better this season.
Some believe that he has already reached his highest potential and will not get any better? How does that even make sense? Last season, he was coming off an injury and was playing one of the toughest positions for a rookie to step into. Now he has full health and has the experience behind him.
Put Keenan Allen in the top-5 wide receiver talk this season. Just watch it happen.
