Malcom Floyd is confident in his health

Malcom Floyd will be returning to the field this season from that devastating neck injury, but he is confident in his ability and confident that it was just a fluke injury.

“I’m confident right now,” Floyd said. “I don’t have any doubts in my mind right now. It was just a fluke event.” – National Football Post

Having Floyd back on the field will be a nice boost to the offense. We still need to see how he responds the first time he steps onto the field though. We need to seee what happens after he takes that first hit. We might be more hesitant about his injury then he is at this point.

Once we see him on the field during the preseason, our fears can be eased. We just are ready to see the deep passes from Philip Rivers over to Malcom. We are ready to see the acrobatic catches all over again.

From ’08-’12 Floyd averaged 13.2 games played, so if the chargers get those 13-14 games I think he will have his first 1000 yard season.

Floyd has never played in an offense with short easy throws to the WR’s, call me optimistic this will be Floyd’s career year.

Wow….seems like a high avg for Floyd. I guess it’s because there was missed games EVERY year, but I would not have guessed 13 per year.
Let’s get 19 this year Malcom!

      • Sergio Quintero

13.2 games played, 2.8 missed games per season, beyond the 14 missed of last year with the freak neck injury, the games played for Floyd is the following:
        2008 13 games
        2009 16 games
        2010 11 games
        2011 12 games
        2012 14 games
        2013 2 games

That comes out 66 games in 5 years prior to last year freak injury year and the 13.2 game played average.

Oh I wasn’t doubting you Brother. Just surprising is all.

  • RZorn

Man, I just hope he stays healthy, along with the rest of the squad.

I love me some Floyd but let’s be real he’s only had one 16 game season. We need Vincent to step up. I’d rather play mind games and have him healthy but play division games and 3rd quarter. Also this lets us know for sure if Vincent should remain a charger

    • Sergio Quintero

I’m sure the chargers will have Floyd on some sort “pitch count” in which he doesn’t play more 2/3 of the plays.

      • Derek

I don’t want him anywhere near cam chancellor! I got a feeling he’s got a target on his back like Percy he in did his first game back (saints). I’ll only be mad if it ends up being another dam crossing route that takes him out

  • Steven White

Yeah, but I heard michael floyd might be pushing him for reps
