San Diego Chargers: What to expect on Saturday

The San Diego Chargers found some help for their pass defense in the first two rounds of the draft and found some depth on the offensive line in the 3rd round. Now what does the team need to find in the next couple of rounds of the draft?

The Chargers do not have a 4th round draft selection after trading it away in order to move up and take Jeremiah Attaochu. Instead, the team will have to wait till the 5th round to make their selection on the day.

The Chargers could use a wide receiver soon, but the better guys will not likely last till the 5th round. Bruce Ellington would be a nice selection for the Chargers. He has speed and can make things happen after the catch and can help in special teams, but he won’t last till the 5th round. If the Chargers can find a way to move up, then they should jump up and get him.

The team could also use more help in the secondary and definitely could use more help on the defensive front.

I’m in favor to trade up again to grab the wr they want

  • Sergio Quintero

Zack Kerr, Justin Ellis, Robert Herron, Chandler Jones, Robert Herron, Jalen Saunders, Jeff Janis are my focus for today.

    • Julien Bélair

ellis is my top choice right now

    • Rob Base

Herron has been on my wish list day one! If not I’d be happy with Saunders, Jones or Janis. Think our 5th could be Ellis.

  • SY

Their biggest need in NT, not WR.

  • Marcel West-Bailey

If we trade Clary for a pick I will….I’m not sure what I’d do but it would be outlandish and possibly illegal

  • Rob Base

Telling you I would trade Vincent Brown to the Browns and double up on receivers ask for a 4th or 5th. Wishful thinking I guess. Or trade Clary!

    • Marcel West-Bailey

I like that. He’s better than most of the receivers on the board yet. I hate to lose him but we have people that can step in.

On a side note , I wonder if KA is going to crack the top 100. We all know Lacy is going to make it because he is part of the east coast bias

I was thinking the same thing. He better be in the top 50-60. IMO

with rb’s being devalued i doubt lacey cracks the top 100 and ka13 had a great yr as a rookie wr he had a decent year as a wr. i doubt both rookies make the top 100 i give lacey a slight edge since he had a top 10 rb year unlike allen who was top 20.

And there goes Bruce Ellington. Damn 9ers. At least it wasn’t Denver or Oakland
