There are a number of players that I would love to see in Chargers uniforms at the end of the week, but there are a couple of names that I am really hoping that we select. I have grown in love with these players and think that they fit perfectly onto our team.

I want to hear what players you really are hoping to be in Chargers uniforms at the end of the week. Just select one offensive player and one defensive player.

Here are my choices:

  • Jacob911

Mcgill fuller attaochu and I wish we could get lee in a 2nd round trade up like we did with teo last year but u can’t have everything

  • esco charger

We already have allen we need a person to strech the field on defense I like attouchu and on offense cody latimer or marcus martin

    • Sergio Quintero

If by some miracle Marcus Martin is available in the 3rd round, it a run up with the card situation.

      • esco charger

Yeah it would take a miracle because I don’t see him getting past the saints in the second round I did a five round mock draft with my own scouting and big board type I want to see how far off im from the actual draft but martin is a good prospect I like the kid from Richmond as well

        • Sergio Quintero

Where do you see Richburg going, how do you see him playing guard for a season or 2 until Hardwick retires??

          • esco charger

If we get richburg say good bye to the clary robbery era but he I can see him being a late second to Indy for a early third to Detroit I mocked him to Detroit in the third would be nice to have him in the third but I doubt we get him unless van noy and every other pass rusher in the second is gone

          • Sergio Quintero

Clary has pictures on somebody!!, I tells you!!

          • esco charger

I know right I thought maybe AJ just liked him alot but even this coaching staff hasn’t got rid of him im like what the heck does everyone see in this guy but what are some of your sleepers do u think we get turner in the forth ????

          • Sergio Quintero

I wouldn’t be shocked that Dozier or Turner is there in the 4th, just one, but that is enough, I might gamble on drafting Brandon Thomas in the 4-5 round range, since he was seen as late first early 2nd round level OG just behind Sua-Filo, have Clary play this year, and have Thomas take over in 2015.

          • esco charger

From clemson right ???? He is a versatile he can play either tackle or guard I like him in the fifth round or maybe late fourth to us another player that I like is Brandon Coleman he has size and speed he is a nice sleeper pick for me that’s who I want in the third or hopefully falls to.the fourth

          • Gunnar Martin

Do you think Thomas and Colvin get drafted near each other since they are in similar situations and both had an early round grade before they got hurt?

          • Sergio Quintero

Somewhere between round 4-5, in particular a team like the 49ers with boatloads of picks, and the ability to hide them in IR all season.

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

we trade up for that fool in that round

        • Sergio Quintero

Absolutely, I remember seeing Notre Dame vs USC and Martin was constantly plowing over Nix, it almost became funny. I haven’t been much on the Nix bandwagon since that game.

  • Padraigh Keogh

What time does the draft start at on Thursday night.? Trying to work out how late I gotta stay up till here in Ireland.

    • Diegoblue

      8pm Eastcoast

      • Padraigh Keogh

Thanks. 1am GMT it is then.

        • Gunnar Martin

          Nice!

  • Luis Espinoza

    Thoughts on Brandon Coleman?

    • Diegoblue

Big body .. Was less productive this year .. He’s raw but with good upside .. Hands are good .. His speed is around a 4.5 Can’t teach size..

      • Luis Espinoza

What round do you think he’ll be taken?

        • Diegoblue

          4 – 5 range .. At the 5 he’s a steal

    • Gunnar Martin

      LOVE HIM

    • Jacob911

      Definitely underrated

  • Edward Sherman

Van noy, Fuller, M. Lee. later round Colvin.

  • navw21

    Kyle Fuller and Donte Moncrief

    • chargersfanfromswitzerland

      exactly my choice ;)

    • Diegoblue

      Good choices

  • Sergio Quintero

Huge fan of Anthony Barr, Brandin Cooks & Jason Verrett, the easiest fit Kyle Fuller, he covers every box.

You know Ernie we both love Van Noy & Jarvis Landry.

I really want Zack Kerr love his highlights, has a really “Hulk Smash” feel to it!!

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Su’a Filo, Van Noy,Mcgill, Diser, Kerr

    • Gunnar Martin

Dude!! That’s exactly mine, but instead of McGill and Desir, I have Latimer and Colvin.

  • ECAVILLE/Ace of Spades

Van Noy, Nix, Coleman, Barr, HaHaDixSu’a Filo, Sammy Watkins…. mmmmmmm dream a little dream.

    • tubbs45

Allen and Watkins would be soooo sick….

      • ECAVILLE/Ace of Spades

        Agree!

    • Jacob911

As in Brandon Coleman or deandre I personally like Brandon coleman

      • ECAVILLE/Ace of Spades

        Yes Brandon Coleman.

  • tubbs45

Kyle Fuller, Joel Bitonio, and/or Odell Beckham… I know the chargers wont take a safety in the 1st, but damn I love Deone Bucannon…

    • Sergio Quintero

Love your group, Bucanon maybe the most underrated player in the draft.

      • tubbs45

Totally agree, though Cooks is right up there in the ‘no respect’ category.

        • Sergio Quintero

I will repeat if you loved the idea of DeSean Jackson then you should like Brandin Cooks. Almost identical measurables, Cooks outproduces him and is a better route runner at this point in their careers.

          • tubbs45

I cant stand DeSean, but I’d love to snap up Cooks.

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

            and is not a gangster

          • tubbs45

            Word…

          • Sergio Quintero

His games vs. Utah (McGill actually had to cover him a lot) and california, are my 2 favorite games of any WR I have seen on draftbreakdown, was a man among boys.

          • tubbs45

            He is just misunderstood….

          • Julien Bélair

in fact the comparison is better with steve smith. Cooks can run every route like smith. Jackson is almost only a deep route runner. But unlike those two Cooks has no character problems. If he is available just draft him he will be a beast.

    • Jacob911

I like fuller and mcgill would be real nice pairing them with wright and gilchrist

    • Stefanie Smith

      Good ones, tubbs.

  • SDmarm17

Van Noy and Bruce Ellington. I think we already have tall receivers that may be able to make an impact this season (Inman and Tutu). At least I’m really hoping they do. Which means we need a speedy and agile WR that can make people miss and that is Ellington.

  • kris

Ok dream wish list- Watkins, Mack, Barr, Haggeman, or Aaron
Realistic wishes Early rounds- Fuller, Van Noy, Moncrief, Dennard, Nix, Lattimer, or McCullers
Later round Wishes- D thomas, D Street, C Richardson, D Easley, SJ Baptist, or Purifoy

    • Jacob911

I think mcgill is a better corner than sjb IMO

  • Pels04

Id like to see Martavis Bryant from Clemson in the 3rd if hes still there. 6′-4″, 35″ vert. and ran a 4.42 at the combine

    • Julien Bélair

      totally agree with you

    • RoyalChargers

Yea i wanna see martavis Bryant in a charger uniform

  • tubbs45

I would love to add Dri Archer as our return specialist… he so damn fast, yeah I know he is small. But for the love of all that is holy, we’ve put up goodman running it out from 8-9 yards deep. Then the incredible combo last year of ‘no fly’ Hawkins and ‘molasses feet’ Brown.

It has been since Sproles left that I was actually excited about a returner getting the ball!!!

    http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/0ap2000000328455/Archer-s-impressive-combine-performance

    • Sergio Quintero

Either him, D’Anthony Thomas, Jalen Saunders in the 5-6 round, I would be very happy.

      • tubbs45

        Somebody… PLEASE TT!!!!

  • Jacob911

    Brandon Coleman also

  • Eli Rodriguez

This is all the players I want in chargers uniforms next season . I would shot my pants if our Draft came out like this.

    1st CB Kyle Fuller
    2nd OLD Kyle Van Noy
    3rd WR Davante Adams
    4th NT Daniel McCullers
    5th CB Aaron Colvin
    6th PR/KR De’Anthony Thomas
7th WR Cody Hoffman or best Good available

    • Sergio Quintero

I really like your mock, I’ll take Ellis and Kerr over McCullers, but the rest I can’t argue much if at all.

      • Eli Rodriguez

I think McCullers fits the type of player we need as a NT but I wouldn’t mind Ellis though. Kerr I’m not a big fan of. In his videos he look like him competition I’d a lot smaller than him. Which make it a lot easier for him to dominate. That’s why I like McCullers he played good competition and even played well against the Alabama oline.

        • Sergio Quintero

There are too many stinkers and invisibles for McCullers, out of what I understand you want a NT who is actually shorter to get under the pads of centers, over 6’3 they are at risk of getting beat and playing too high.

An ideal NT 6’1-6’3 about 335-350lbs and if he has long arms with that build that is even better.

          • Eli Rodriguez

I feel like since his is so big he would be able to automatically draw double blockers. He is nearly unstoppable in one on one. That why i think he could be very successful . In nearly every play he is on double blockers. I could be completely wrong though. That’s why i’m not an expert.

          • Sergio Quintero

The idea with NT is wide shoulders, big butt, play low to the ground, basically push forward, and force the center to have a guard help him, most NT don’t look like OT’s, that is 6’6 or more, because getting under the pad level of 6’2 center is really hard.

McCullers is 6’7, so he would actually be really pushing it, remember the consensus NT for the last 15 years was the Steelers Casey Hampton 6’2 355 lbs, basically unmovable.

          • powderBLUE801

Plus at 6’7 he is slow and he is not very aggressive either.

          • Matt

McCullers could be one of the exceptions. Yes he might have trouble getting under the pads of the center, but he has LONG ARMS which means he has a reach advantage to push the center or win the arm battle. Remember there is another stud nose tackle named Darnell Dockett who uses his long arms to his advantage. I watched film on McCullers and no one has been able to handle him one on one. He even gets triple teamed sometimes. He also pushed Chance Warmack around like a ragdoll when they were matched up so that says a lot.

Some people say he is a 3rd rounder or late 2nd round. If we see him in the 3rd round or 4th I wouldn’t mind taking Mount McCullers.

          • BoltNative

Matt, you sound like you actually have watched film on McCullers and noticed the exact same thing. The Chargers will pick either a NT or DE or both because of their needs there. For me, given all of the realistic options, it’s either Nix, McCullers, or Daquan Jones for NT although I see Daquan Jones as more of a DE. If they add Zach Kerr to that mix, now that would be even more interesting. Out interior DL is just begging TT for help. The likes of we which haven’t seen for what, 7-8 years?

          • Matt

I actually did watch film on some of our prospects. Justin Ellis, I haven’t found any clips on how he would fair against NFL caliber offensive linemen.
Daquan Jones can win one on one battles but gets washed out when he gets double teamed.
Easley on the other hand is fun to watch one on one cause he gets to the backfield with his speed and technique, problem is, I haven’t seen him produce a lot when double teamed.
Only Nix and McCuller have been able to constantly draw double teams and win so they are my top nose tackle prospects. I didn’t watch film on Zach Kerr.
Ego Ferguson looks good one on one but I haven’t seen him get double teamed a lot. He looks more like a 4-3 Defensive tackle than someone who would hold the center down.

          • Julien Bélair

            agree

    • Stefanie Smith

Like your picks. Yep, I could go for that. I love Fuller. Think he would be great for the Chargers.

    • Julien Bélair

Switch McCullers for Ellis and you got the perfect draft……one problem though… Adams will not be there in the third …He might even being selected in the first or at the very least in the second

      • Sergio Quintero

You are probably right on Adams, and very much concur on Ellis.

        • Julien Bélair

yes we finally are on the same page my friend !

          • Sergio Quintero

It took a while, but we are simpatico now Julien

          • Julien Bélair

breath of fresh air isn’t it

          • Sergio Quintero

What 2nd-3rd round WR do you like Julien?

          • Julien Bélair

Adams is the receiver I want in the second round. If he is not there I would wait in the third for Bryant or Matthews

          • Sergio Quintero

I would like to see Latimer in the 2nd, but the odds don’t look good for that, I can’t see Mathews available in the 3rd round.

So in the 2nd Adams, Moncrief
3rd round guys Richardson, Landry, Huff & Ellington.

          • Julien Bélair

I also like Moncrief but I think in the second it’s too high

          • Sergio Quintero

Either you take him too high, or he probably wont be there in the 3rd.

          • Eli Rodriguez

Someone will fall just like Allen did.

          • Sergio Quintero

Landry is the most probable, lack of speed pushes players down.

          • Julien Bélair

I would be afraid of a Brown 2.0

          • Sergio Quintero

Very little probability of that, Landry’s strength is his strength, he breaks the press, wins 50-50 balls, and runs excellent patterns, the negative is he wont outrun anyone, and he wont make elite separation like Watkins.

He has gotten a whole lot of Hines Ward comparisons.

          • Julien Bélair

He is a better prospect than Beckham to me no doubt

          • Julien Bélair

very true… I say we should pass on him then

          • SDmarm17

Allen Robinson in the second round.

    • ECAVILLE/Ace of Spades

That’s actually very possible. I like Dri Archer too with the 6th pick.

  • Charger2139

    My top 5
    1.Van Noy
    2.Dennard
    3.D’anthony Thomas
    4. Brandon Coleman
    5. Taji Boyd

  • Spawnwarrior

I like Morgan breslin.. solid pass rush
Offense I’d say josh Huff, he’s been stepping up every season and still has upside

  • bolt up!

tj jones is also a sleeper WR out of notre dame

  • BlueBoltFan

Assuming everyone is available in the range they’re projected to go (i.e., no reaches or steals):

Great Picks: Kyle Fuller, Kyle Van Noy, Brandin Cooks, Darqueze Dennard, Odell Beckham,

Good Picks: Jason Verrett, Cody Latimer, DeMarcus Lawrence, Allen Robinson, Davante Adams, Bradley Roby, Donte Moncrief, Jarvis Landry, Daniel McCullers, Dee Ford, Bruce Ellington, Trai Turner, Brandon Thomas, Stanley Jean-Baptiste, Kelvin Benjamin

Solid Picks: Louis Nix, Trent Murphy, Paul Richardson, Pierre Desir, Phillip Gaines, Martavis Bryant, Josh Huff, Jeremiah Attaochu, Marcus Smith, DaQuan Jones, JuWan James, Joel Bitonio, Jordan Mathews, Moses Morgan, Xavier Sua-Filo, Cyril Richardson, David Yankey, Justin Ellis, Marquis Lee, Keith McGill, Carl Bradford, Trevor Reilly, Zach Kerr, Antonio Richardson, Bennie Fowler, Jeff Janis, Kevin Norwood, L’Damian Washington, Chandler Jones, Jalen Saunders, Josh Mauro, Taylor Hart, DeAndre Coleman, Ryan Carrethers

    • Julien Bélair

Beckham is an overrated basterd. He will be drafted wayyyy to high. Landry is by far better

      • BlueBoltFan

My brother felt the same way when I showed him tape of both guys. Beckham was SURROUNDED by NFL caliber talent at LSU (WR2, QB, RB, OL) and didn’t outplay the others.

Still, I just keep seeing the guy make those game-breaking plays every time I watch him. I do feel like he and Landry are very close in talent level, but Beckham brings a dimension to the offense the Chargers don’t currently have.

        • Julien Bélair

Beckham disappeared against good competition or big games.

Beckham in the second ? sure… in the first ***** no

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

            in the third… perfect!

          • BlueBoltFan

I’d call that the steal of the draft! Lol

          • Sergio Quintero

Beckham & Cooks share the perception I have for Fuller & Verrett, the logical part of my brain says Fuller & Beckham have produced their measurables are rock solid, but my eyes tell me that Verrett and Cooks are better players, and if they can carry over their level of play, they will outplay the other guy.

          • Julien Bélair

Beckham if drafted in the first round will be a big time bust… mark my word !

          • BlueBoltFan

I could see him just being a guy. I don’t see him being a bust.

          • Julien Bélair

if he is just a guy after being drafted somewhere between 15-22 he is a bust

          • Sergio Quintero

Don’t stress yourself out, the rumor is that the 49ers are pretty much super in for Beckham that they will figure out a way to get Beckham as early as pick 11.

          • Julien Bélair

watch out for AJ Jenkins 2.0

    • Sergio Quintero

Blue you know you and I very much share the perception of players, so what is more to say than very much agree.

    • Jacob911

He said players u like not everyone in the draft

      • BlueBoltFan

Well, since you didn’t list ANY players you like it evens out.

  • bolt up!

theres too many players i would love to see rock a bolt uni, but heres players that might be impossible to get and not impossible. KHALIL MACK,WATKINS,LEE, GILBERT WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE BUT I HOPE NOT,DENNARD,FULLER,COOKS,BECKHAM,BENJAMIN,ROBY,FORD,SJB,MCGIL,MARTIN,BUCCANON,JIMMIE WARD,AND THE LIST GOES ON IM SO EXCITED FOR THURSDAY! CALLED OFF FOR WORK AND EVERYTHING LOL

  • Derek

I wanna see a cb first. Even if we got nix he would be behind Sean and prob would take a season to show. Same for Xavier. Ppl would just run at Barr. Sooo let’s go bradley

    • Gunnar Martin

Su’a-Filo would start. Who do you imagine beating him out? I feel like we’ve been over this…

      • Derek

Ur right he would start I chalk that one up to personal preference.

        • Gunnar Martin

Aight, good enough for me :)

  • zakp

I want the bolts to draft Brandon cooks so bad man. He is so sick. Him and Kyle van not in the second would be like my dream draft lol

    • Sergio Quintero

Wow somebody shares my perfect draft, I thought I was alone in the Cooks bandwagon.

      • Julien Bélair

        I’m with you guys

    • gpack17

i want no part of cooks…completely overrated…dont see the desean jackson comparisons at all…i honestly feel paul richardson even looks more like desean jackson..cooks reminds me of royal..dont think we need another one of him…

  • Parker Richardson

Aaron Donald… I know its next to impossible and he wouldn’t exactly be the best scheme fit but i honestly think he will be the best player to come out of this draft!

    • Marcel West-Bailey

      Don’t count on it buddy

  • powderBLUE801

    Van noy and su a’filo.

  • Alter Ego

Couple of guys I think will rock in the NFL…4th and 5th round picks respectively – both defensive studs :

4th round – Deone Bucannon SS Washington State : 3x team captain, special teams hammer, physical intimidating safety with 15 INTs and an equally impressive 384 tackles in his college career. Yes Yes and Yes…leader and true grit and do it guy.

5th round – Michael Sam DE (OLB NFL) Missouri : Are you kidding…1st team All American, a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, the Hendricks Award, and the Lombardi Award.Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. I don’t give a crap that he is gay – he can play.

    • gpack17

a lot of people are saying bucannon could slip into the first round and that his stock is rising quickly at the right time..no way he lasts until round 4…

  • tonyloc1970 .

Out of everyone in the draft. The one player I hope I hear the Chargers select Van Noy also.

  • Diegoblue

Nix .. one position that can affect many and Moncrief.. Paring him with Allen would cause problems for defenses for a long time

  • Matt

I want to see us draft Trent Murphy if he falls to us in the 2nd round. He is a stud and he constantly dirupts the backfield. Technique-wise he wins most of the battles with his cattle-wrestling experience. He didn’t run a fast 40 in the combine but he made it up on his pro-day running in the 4.7 range. Of all the outside linebackers that could be a possibility I like him the best. Watch his film and see how he is just a great football player.
