Video: Chargers LB Thomas Keiser Attacking Bar Employee

San Diego Chargers LB Thomas Keiser was arrested last season and charged with misdemeanor assault last season. He was arrested the night after the Chargers clinched the playoffs against the Kansas City Chiefs (Thanks Ryan Succop).

According to some of the details on the night, Keiser attacked an employee of the barleymash, a bar in downtown San Diego. Surveillance video of the incident has been released and it shows those exact details:

Keaier has already gone through his trial according to News 10:

On March 24, Keiser pleaded guilty in a plea deal arranged by attorney Paul Pfingst. He was sentenced to probation, ordered to pay a fine and complete 20 hours of counseling for anger management.

His next court date is scheduled for the end of May to prove he completed counseling.

I wonder if the video getting released to the public will have any effect on Keiser’s roster spot. The team has tried to bring in good characters onto the roster and having this in the public eye of opinion can’t help him any.

Think he gets the axe? I wonder if Telesco and the Chargers seen the video yet?

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

not sure… but if the Chargers take a pass rusher in the draft, he could have been on the chopping block already.

      • arnie

Chargers needed bodies and Keiser came cheap. This will not help his chances, unless he has an outstanding pre-season.

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

exactly… we needed him in the past, but with people coming back healthy, we will likely go in another direction.

          • esco charger

If he gets the axe I hope it’s because Anthony Barr fell to the number 25 selection or we drafted Kyle van noy in the second.I just hope we find a NT to sure up the DLine because if we don’t not only will our run defense suffer but our pass defense as well because our outside rushers can’t get that one on one match ups 9 days away and we will see what direction the future of our team is going BOLT UP CHARGERS AND CHARGERETTES LOL !!!!!!!!!!

      • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I think he should go. He had his chance, and he blew it. More Tourek please!!!

  • Stefanie Smith

Hopefully, some day in the near future, we will be at the point where we have gone beyond “needing bodies”. Have to get beyond that to have any hopes of a decent playoff run or SB appearance. Tired of just filling the team with bodies. Impact players are in order.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

that was the issue with the team not having any depth last season. the depth should be much better this season… still needs some work, but not the best.

      • Stefanie Smith

Agreed, Ernie. A spot on an NFL team is valuable and worth something. Every player, maybe with a little work, should try to make an impact –be good for the team.

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

          Amen.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

I don’t care who he punched, he picked Peyton Manning he should be given a roster spot just for that! No one else on this team could say they did that last year. TK is a bad ass.

    • Matt

I don’t know if you are just being sarcastic but in case you are not, giving him a roster spot would mean we are trying to become the Raiders by signing these “bad ass” players.

It was Liuget who hit Peyton’s arm anyway which caused him to throw a ball to Keiser’s arms. So you’re argument is invalid.

    • Chris Cutty

      Butler picked off Payton too.

  • Matt

He is a disgrace to the Chargers team. This is worse than the Vincent Jackson DUIs. He’s not even a starter, Telesco should replace him with a rookie or another veteran for depth incase Freeney gets injured again.

If you are arrested for ambushing and beating someone and your boss sees the video put in public do you think you would still have work?

Well if we are looking for a replacement w3 could get someone in the draft. We need a pass rusher for next year anyway.

  • Sergio Quintero

He already had his roster spot in risk, the volume at OLB is quite noticeable:

Ingram, Freeney, Johnson, Williams, English, Keiser, Law.

That’s 7 guys and everybody expect them to add another draft pick to that group, I expect them to carry 6 OLB this season, so goodbye to English (take you bust a… out of here) & Keiser (Telesco doesn’t like idiots) off this roster.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

      Agreed.

  • powderBLUE801

Before we start the bashing does anyone know what this guy did to piss him off? If he touched his lady or something over board I would smash him too.

    • Daniel Sutter

His dad was cut off cuz he had too much to drink. Guaranteed his dad told him to go f him up. Football player or not, when your drunk and you and your dad thinks someone f’ed with your pops your gonna get mad…

  • Gunnar Martin

I asked Acee in one of those chat things they do about how the Chargers viewed Keiser with his situation and all (this was a couple weeks ago), and he said whether Thomas makes the team or not will have nothing to do with his recent altercation. But that’s hard to believe after this video got released.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I saw him, literally, a few hours before this incident happened. They must have gotten down there, and gotten drunk REAL quick. Everyone was celebrating, or sighing with relief.. he was already dressed, showered, pumped-up, and leaving. Super-Mel was still in his undies… lol. I am pretty sure that I saw a video of this a while ago, so nothing new. He basically waited, and ambushed the guy. Not a fan of Keiser doing this, no matter what he did for the team. Just seems like he should have had MUCH more control… but, then again.. he was getting drunk with his pops at an Irish Bar in the Gaslamp, after almost dropping an important game to KC’s back-ups. Had he had a stellar game, I might have more sympathy. This is just another reason why I always preach “STAY OUT OF THE GASLAMP”!!! Nothing good happens down there, innocent or guilty.. ask RM24… especially for athletes. So stupid.

      • Gunnar Martin

Why is it always you that gets the first-hand experiences?? Lol. But yeah, he definitely shouldn’t have been in a situation like that, or at least should’ve handled the situation differently. Oh well. Guess all we can do now is wait and see how the Chargers handle it. But isn’t that all we ever do anyways? Just wait and see, wait and see… Gah I hate the offseason :/

        • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

it’s killing me! Bring in the draft already!!!

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I’m not everywhere.. but, yes… I WAS “there”. Thank Ernie… lol.

      • I_Bleed_Powder_Blue_801

Another reason I don’t miss SP95, Cromartie31, and any of the other guys that loved to party during the season.. I get it, that they gotta blow off some steam and all…
It would be nice to see them NOT put themselves in these situations and wait until the season is done…
As for his ambush, I think he made a bad choice. Something he’s gonna have to live with

  • veazy

Great job Keiser. You just became a contender for the number 1 spot on the next episode of World’s Dumbest.

  • Loco Bravo

    Cut him.

  • Edward Sherman
