Bradley Roby Disputes DUI Reports over Twitter

Bradley Roby is a prospect that the San Diego Chargers have had their eye on. They have had him over for visits and have been getting a lot of information on the corner. He is a player that the team could consider taking with their first pick in the draft.

There were recent reports that the prospect was pulled over with a DUI and if all those reports were true, Roby would have slipped down some draft boards and would likely be off of the Chargers list of prospects.

Roby is disputing all those reports over twitter this morning:

It seems that Roby has a good case. It will be interesting to see if that little incident will affect his draft status.

    Good response by the guy.

I like him posting the actual print out with the breath results lol, that’s a pretty smart move. If he drops to the second round cause of some BS that sucks for him but could be great for us =)

So lets say…hypothetically of course…that because of this, teams are put off by the negative publicity. He falls to the second round. Also hypothetically Kyle Fuller was taken in the first. If he’s there at 57 I’m skipping on a pass rusher to take him. Our pass rush wasn’t great but it was ok. And that was without Freeney. If we pick up a WR in the 3rd and a pass rusher in the 4th or vice versa…I’d call that a pretty good draft. 5th and 6th round pick up a guard/DAT/ maybe another pass rusher. Then hit the bargain store with the UDFA.

      I like that idea

      • Marcel West-Bailey

Right? I think we’ll be a little short on the defensive line but you get a pick and the bargain mart that is the UDFA pool.

Is it just a coincidence that this ticket is on 4/20 and time of test is 4:20? Also, why did it take four days for this to get out?

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      ummmm… that is interesting

    • veazy

4/20 is not a lucky number for him apparently.

      • Gunnar Martin

I will laugh so hard if he gets drafted with the twentieth pick in the fourth round. Oh my gosh that would be amazing.

        • arnie

          Or 420th overall?

the problem is TIMING vs. anything else. You have 2.5 weeks to be good, and trouble found you. Trouble will find you more, as a 21 year old with a $1 million in his pocket.

Glad to see the media getting some whiplash, i still would rather have Verret over him though, and honestly i think the Bengals would rather draft him over Verret and Fuller for development reasons.

Not really a huge fan of Roby but in his defense he blew a .008 where the legal limit was .08. He did the right thing and slept in a parking lot instead of driving even though his alcohol level was equivalent to something along the lines of one drink of a beer. This shouldnt even been an issue to the media or to the nfl.
