Why Was Philip Rivers Wearing a Vanderbilt Hat?

People are wondering why Philip Rivers was wearing a Vanderbilt hat during his time with the media yesterday.

It seemed odd that he would be rocking a Vanderbilt hat considering that he attended school at North Carolina State, until you realize the rumors of his little brother, Stephen Rivers, transferring to Vanderbilt.

Stephen Rivers is currently a quarterback with LSU and could be transferring in order to get some playing time with Vanderbilt. With Philip already rocking the Vanderbilt hate, it seems that the rumors are true that Stephen Rivers will be heading out in that direction.

There’s our new age quarterback right there. Post Rivers era and into the…..Rivers era…again.

      wouldnt that be crazy

      • Marcel West-Bailey

Right. But I do hope our next QB is an exciting player to watch without being detrimental to the team.

      hahahahaha! Rivers part 2

  • Eli Rodriguez

Is his brother good? This is the first time Ive heard of him.

    • Aaron Johnson

From what I read, he was a decent highschool prospect but had a hard time getting on the field at LSU. Maybe a talent thing or maybe they are stacked at QB. All I do know is that he should probably see the field a lot with Vandy if he is half as good as (Phillip) Rivers

Unfortunately this will not be a manning brothers type. I highly doubt he gets much playing time at vandy as well. He has made it to college from his dad and the rivers name that’s it.

        • Conor Cahill

You really think his dad and last name alone are what got him a roster spot on LSU that they couldve given to someone else?

          • powderBLUE801

I sure do. Look at his high school stats as a senior he completed 84 of 180 passes with 1,154 yards 12 TD and 8 interceptions. That’s not very good for a high school senior. I’m sure they could have signed someone a lot better IMO.

His brother is not that good at the college level. You will not here of him again unless someone talks about him on a side note like they are with this article.

PLOT TWIST: Philip is advertising for Vanderbilt’s Jordan Matthews.

He’s campaigning to draft Jordan Matthews for sure.
