A lot of the Bolt Beaters have been doing their homework on the possible corners that the team should select in the first round. The draft is so far away that we have looked at all these players over and over and over and over and over and over again. We have been running videos on each of these players till it is making us sick.

It feels like it is time to put this thing up for a vote on which corner the Bolt Beaters would like the Chargers to take in the first round. This post will just be about the corners. We will vote on some of the other positions at another time. We will then come back and run a vote again as we get closer to the draft in order to see if the hype train has changed your minds.

Here are the different prospects for the first round:

Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
A lot of analysts feel that Gilbert will be the first corner off of the board because of his combination of size and speed. Does his tape match that athleticism though?

Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State
He was thought of as the top corner going into the draft, but Gilbert has jumped him for that position. Still one of the best available and many believe he will not be available when the Chargers select.

Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
Fuller is a physical defender and is great in run support. He has been rising up draft boards of late.

Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
Remember the last time the Chargers took a player from TCU? Verrett doesn’t have the ideal size at corner, but he is a solid defender.

Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State
The Chargers have brought in Roby for a visit and have shown interest in him. He had a down season last year, but  has all the tools that can make a good corner.

There are all the possibilities for the Chargers in the first round. If all those players are taken by the time the Chargers select, then we are going to have to add someone at a different position. It would almost be like the situation with D.J. Fluker in the first round. We wanted a left tackle, but decided to take a right tackle after all the good ones were off of the board.

Cast your votes. Let’s see who the Bolt Beaters feel should be the Chargers target in round 1.
