San Diego Chargers Preseason Schedule Released

The San Diego chargers have released their preseason schedule today. Here is the post that was shared by the Chargers twitter account:

The Chargers will open the preseason against the Dallas Cowboys, then they will face off against some teams that they will face off against 3 teams that they will see during the regular season.

In the second week of preseason, the Chargers will head to Seattle to face off against the Champion Seahawks.

In week 3, they head to San Francisco to face off against the 49ers. That game will be played on August 24 and will kick off at 1pm. It is the only game that has a date and time associated to it right now. The Chargers will get to see the 49ers new stadium twice during the season.

Then they close it out at home against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Chargers tend to face these teams a lot during the preseason, but they will be facing some opponents that they will see during the regular season. That should make for some vanilla playcalling during the games.

    • Peter Thompson

First… the last is kinda garbage.

      • 619chargers4life

        I know right ! I wish we had the 2nd or 3rd at home . Lame .

        • boltingindiego

i would always pick the 3rd game 3 quarters of your starters usually.

    • Ernie Padaon

      definitely the first one

  • Conor Cahill

I get the whole “we always play the NFC West” in the preseason thing, but why does it not change when we play them in the regular season?

  • Marcel West-Bailey

Wait weren’t these nearly the same games from last season? Substitute the Cowgirls for the Bears and that’s it?

    • Gunnar Martin

Exactly. LAAAAAAAAMMMME. Thanks a lot NFL.

    • boltingindiego

you can pencil in every preason az, sf, and sea. Then pick another nfc team and you get your schedule.

      • Ernie Padaon

        this is pretty much right

        • JoseSD

i think its always the same west coast teams to reduce travel both in distance and cost remember this isn’t the 53 man roster flying.
up to 90 players plus tons of personnel guys have to travel with the team during the preseason

  • Michael Norton

As a season ticket holder, it totally blows that we have the first and last preseason home games, traditionally the games that the scrubs get the most action. Same teams every year, BORING! I get that they don’t want to put in a lot of traveling miles, but jeez PLEEEEEASE. We have to pay full price for this???

    • Ernie Padaon

      yea… absolutely WEAK

  • Gunnar Martin

    “Again?! Freaking AGAIN?!?!”

Off topic but we got ohrnburger!!!!!! Yr one he got us talent yr 2 we got depth

I’m just happy to see an NFL schedule. This off season is taking forever!

    • Ernie Padaon

i know right. just good to see something real happen

  • Pels04

I probably couldve guessed these 4 teams. Hey NFL mix it up a bit!

  • veazy

Is there some sort of agreement between the Chargers and the Cowboys? Do they ask the NFL to schedule them in the preseason every year or something?

  • ChargerGirl Cindi

Ok, I posted this, kinda, again. I should look. Anyhow, I do not expect ANY vanilla play calling this year. If McCoy learned nothing last year, he should have learned you put the pedal to the floor and you do not remove your foot until the clock reads 0.
