Tom Telesco Present During Indiana Pro Day

Tom Telesco was present at the Pro Day for Indiana and he was likely looking at receiver Cody Latimer during drills, per Gil Brandt. Latimer was present at the combine, but he wasn’t able to do much since he is coming back from a broken foot. He did get to the bench at the combine and led all receivers with 23 reps.

Latimer was able to run the 40 at his Pro Day though and he finished with a 4.44 second 40-yard dash. His foot is getting better, but he still can only run in a straight line at this time. He will be a prospect that we will have to keep our eyes on. He will be slipping down the draft a little bit with the injury and failure to get on the field for the combines, but he still possesses some good attributes that can help the Chargers offense.

Latimer has that big body that people love. He stands at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds. He has some speed to go with that size and showed off his strength on the bench. He is a good blocker and could help the team in the red zone with his size. He currently is projected to be taken in the 5th round, but he has a lot of nice tools to work with and could be someone the team can develop into a playmaker.

Here are some highlights of Cody Latimer in college:

Tall, recovering from an injury, draft stock slipping…

    Remind you of anyone?

Tt bout to do it again! He better have a back up prospect because for him to be as bold as to show up at the pro day it will really make me question the intelligence of team scouts for us to be able to pull the same stunt 2 yrs and a row

        aj did it twice…

          Which picks?

great post..guy could be a really good sleeper pick..strongest receiver in the draft..pretty quick while injured..could be an awesome pick

  • Derek

I think he his gonna take the Vincent Jackson route to development

Cody Latimer is player I studied about a month ago.
Considered him a steal late in the draft, hopefully it’s to the Chargers.

  • Nick Mansoor

Imagine how jealous our division rivals will be if we pull another Keenan Allen and DJ Fuller this year. Haha I already hear them complaining!

    • Derek

F&@! Em with all their cap $ and comp picks. Another yr the odds are stacked against us. Hope they dissapoint again

And we will.. Thats how great teams are built

        Stupid spell check

Shaun Phillips signs with the Titans. Man, I cannot hack Whisenhunt. Really would like to smack that guy.

    • Gunnar Martin

Oh c’mon, it’s not like Whiz was purposely trying to steal from us on that one. We obviously weren’t going to bring Shaun back. Can’t help but feel good for SP95 signing with someone that’s not the Donkeys.

      • Stefanie Smith

You do have a point there, Gunnar. It burned a hole in my stomach when he signed with the Broncos. I don’t like Whisenhunt. I think he was not prepared in our playoff game. He did not do right by the Chargers during the playoffs. He turned out to be selfish and I am glad he is gone.

I’m just glad there wasn’t a chance for the Bolts to retain Whisenhunt, and he got signed away.. because I think they would have kept him. I knew halfway through the season he wasn’t our guy. Sure.. he did have success, and deserves credit for what he did with the offense… but, the stubbornness of his play-calling was mind numbingly ignorant at times.

    • powderBLUE801

I don’t see why we couldn’t at least bring sp95 back. He still has gas in the tank and we can obviously use him. He wouldn’t be to much $. Oh man I’m depressed.

        2 years 6 million. enough said…

Really? That’s what he got? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA……… Oh my frickin’ gosh!

    • Calman21

Phillips wasn’t coming back. TT likely didn’t want him back too old, and we have a better old passer rusher already. TT wants to get younger.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

That catch he made around the defender was quite nice, would love to have this guy.

  • jeremy

Runs a lot like keenan. Smart receiver that knows how to get open. Telesco knows how to pick receivers

    • Gunnar Martin

      Keenan CLONE

  • powderBLUE801

I like the gamble but honestly how many injured guys do we want? I understand a lot of football players get injured but a broken foot is a really bad injury for a WR! I’m not sure if he will be the stud Allen was.

    • arnie

If he can play on his foot, like Allen recovering from his ACL, he may “surpass” Allen.

      • powderBLUE801

I hope he recovers FULLY even if he is not on our team. But it will be a nagging injury he will battle all of his career. He will not be able to make cuts up and down the field like he used too.

  • WSU_510_CHARGER

Doesnt look like a 5th round talent to me. Then again they didn’t show his bad plays….

  • Rich Plascencia⚡️

Telesco was with indy when the colts drafted TY hilton in the 3rd round. he knows what to look for in a WR

    • Julien Bélair

he is good to find O players

  • tubbs45
    • Captain Kush

Damn, she would get drilled for days.

  • powderBLUE801

I just read another story on him in bleacher report and he is visiting 5 or 6 other NFL teams that have him on their radar.

  • CALiFORNiAkiD

Watching this SDSU game makes me wish SD had a pro basketball team.

  • BlueBoltFan

I think Latimer will be less under the radar but will still probably be under drafted because of the injury. The only concern I have is that serious foot and ankle injuries tend to take 2-3 years to fully recover from (See: Antonio Gates, Vincent Brown, LaDanian Tomlinson). Still, I think the upside is well worth it by the 5th round. He looks like a 2nd round pick!

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

    Can he return kicks?

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

TT was probably just stopping by while he was in route to Indianapolis to talk to players being released from the Colts roster.. lol.

    • Gunnar Martin

This is exactly what I was thinking. lol

Friggin’ Thomas Keiser… what a bad idea it was to go out RIGHT after the KC game (that sent us to the playoffs) and beat up a bar attendant at an Irish Pub. That just looks like all kinds of bad…. what a jackass… here is what he was sentenced to:

“SAN DIEGO — Chargers linebacker Thomas Keiser has been put on three years’ probation, fined $655 and ordered to stay away from a popular downtown bar after pleading guilty to misdemeanor battery involving a fight with a bar employee.

Keiser, 24, also was ordered to undergo 20 hours of anger-management counseling. He also cannot own a firearm for the next 10 years.”
