All Quiet for Chargers as Free Agency Opens

The San Diego Chargers are again quiet at the opening of the free agency period. They were quiet during the last free agency period as well. The only excitement that we were able to receive at this moment was a fake report on the Chargers signing CB Carlos Rogers. The fake twitter account didn’t even spell Rogers name correctly, but it duped the San Diego reporters and they tweeted it all out there for everyone to see.

The opening of free agency is when all the big money is spent and the big name free agents get picked up by different teams. Tom Telesco, once again is playing the waiting game while other teams are making it rain with their dough. He is sitting back and examining what is left after all the dominos fall.

At this point, Carlos Rogers is still availale. Captain Munnerlyn is available. At nose tackle, Soliai and other big names are signing on with different teams, but there still are options for the Chargers to pick up. Those options should come at a cheaper bill with all teams already signing their nose tackles. The Chargers should be able to lock up some nice talent again in the free agency game.

It seems that big money is not getting spent on wide receivers in this free agency period as well. The Chargers might be able to pick up some nice talent at the postion.

Sitting and waiting and the Chargers will get their pick of players that are left standing.

Tom must have something up his sleeve .

I stand by my picks. I want James Jones and Walter Thurmond. Doesn’t look like we are getting a NT

    • Gunnar Martin

Looks like Thurmond will get signed by Jacksonville. And there’s still a few solid nose tackles out there. Not many, but a few.

    • Miike Holm

Jones and Thurmond are my favorites here too. Corey Graham or Captain Munnerlyn would be good as well. It also sounds like Earl Mitchell is paying us a visit if he leaves Miami.

Gosh they always come up with these good-value guys that no one knows about. Make me have to google their names every time!

    • Brett M

Why are we looking at inside LB when we have other glaring needs

      • navw21

Depth, and apparently is a very good special teams player.

      • Joel Ayala

Depth. I believe we had Bront Bird last year as Depth. No bueno. I’m sure he’s better than Bird. Lol

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

          exactly

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

we need depth at that position. remember bront bird playing for us in the middle last season in the playoffs?

  • Gunnar Martin

Now what will be really funny is if we still end up signing Carlos Rogers anyways.

    • navw21

Lets try for Tarell Brown first.
