Earl Mitchell Visiting Miami, They Don’t Plan To Let Him Leave

Earl Mitchell plans on visiting the Miami Dolphins today and the Dolphins don’t plan on letting him leave without a contract, per Ian Rapoport. If he were to actually get out of the facility without a contract, he would then come visit San Diego and give the Chargers an opportunity to sign him. The Dolphins are the favorite for services at the moment.

Mitchell would be a nose tackle for the Chargers and would fill a huge need on the defense. The Chargers will have to look in a different direction for a nose tackle now that Mitchell will be off of the market. There are still a few other options for the Chargers to consider, but Mitchell was one of the few names that were rumored to be for the Chargers.

We will have to look for different rumors to come through the wire.

A half hour into free agency and the @chargers snag Carlos Rodgers. 3 seasons and $16 Million deal. $11 Million guaranteed.

I’ll take it! Great job TT!!!!! Get a vet in here… a little older than I wanted, and not my personal choice, but we needed a veteran presence. This will help majorly! 47 tackles & 2 INT’s in 2013… 3 fumble recoveries in 2012 & an INT… SIX interceptions in 2011.. works for me = )

  • arnie

Let’s be clear, if Mitchell wants “BIG MONEY” he can stay there. If he wants to play on a team that has a chance to be back in the playoffs, and still get payed? He’ll be here…
