Bolt Beat Looking to Add More Writers

Sorry for the inconsistency on my end for the last couple of days. Been a busy time in the office and it has been difficult to find some time to get on the computer. Got a little chance right now and wanted to post about us wanting to add more talent to our roster at Bolt Beat.

We already have an awesome group of writers on the site and would love to add more opinions on the site. I will always look to add some fresh thoughts and ideas onto the team. I can’t be the only opinion on the site, since I know I can be wrong on some things and some people definitely see things through a different light than I do. That is why other writers on the site are much appreciated for their contributions.

Would love to add more people onto the site and if you are interested, please fill out an application to join the team. The job is not a well paying job (no pay), but it is a nice spot to start for aspiring writers. We have a good audience here on the site and we are always looking to get it bigger. All our posts are shared on Sports Illustrated’s website and we are always looking to grow our readership.

We want this site to be the BEST Chargers website that is on the web. I won’t be able to do it on my own. Would love to add some of those Bolt Beat readers onto the team to take this thing to a whole new level.

Here is the app if you are interested.

Also, you can email me at [email protected] Sometimes the app doesn’t work (Pete knows this) and things can get lost in the processing. It might be easier to send me an email after you fill out the app to make sure I received it.

Thanks and hope to hear from a bunch of you soon.

      Do It Nick!!!!

I did, Ernie should have gotten my e-mail. The app is not working for some reason

Yes, it took quite a few tries to get my stuff submitted, but we got it handled = )
Anyway, preach Ernie! Things have been crazy busy for me too!!! Not that any of the other sites have been “cranking it out” lately either, so not too worried. It’s so hard to find anything quality right now.. I started a few articles, but found myself trying to turn one piece of information into an entire story, and scrapped them.. hahaha. I should be able to knock something out soon. Just hate getting those “this isn’t news.. that’s the problem with this site.. you are reaching” comments. Sometimes, it’s hard to keep the content up, without people acting like you are just bored.. which we are all friggin’ bored right now!!! DUH!!! We have to have SOMETHING to chew on, right?

Anyway, writing on here is really fun, and I encourage you all to take a chance, and submit an application. All I really am is a commenter, who started writing articles because my posts got too long (Hee Hee). Even if it ends up not being your thing, give it a shot. You’ll get some haters, of course, but most people on here are forgiving. And, if not.. just make sure that you don’t tell them where to stick it… that is a REALLY bad idea.. I would never do something like that ; )

Free Agency is right around the corner, and so is the draft. Believe it or not, some of the pieces I have written that got the best response from the readers happen right around this time. There’s so much energy, and excitement before the season kicks off. Great time to try it out, too.. the offseason is a pretty safe place to get your feet under you first, as a lot of people check out until pre-season starts.. at that point.. IT’s ON!!! Bolt Up!!!!

Haha. Can’t wait till your next article Pete. You always bring good stuff :)

To do what I REALLY want to do… I need a really good graphic designer OR an equally bad ass sketch artist
        ; )

If we get that guy, we can find an awesome shirt maker!

          • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

If you want cool t-shirts made, I can get a quote, Ernie. You could take orders on here, and sell them / give them away / whatever. I do some for my own company. I took orders from people who wanted them immediately, got their sizes / addresses, had them PayPal me money & shipping (so it’s safe& legit), and knocked out a couple hundred at a time to get bulk rates. Takes a few weeks, but we were even able to do some carry bags, get girl sizes, have pink ones made & baby tee tank tops… I even had some onsies made for babies… all relatively affordable. Hers a pick of one. I just happened to be wearing it right now. It looks a little tattered, but I have washed it countless times, and rocked it endlessly. If you ever want to go that path, I have good contacts in that industry.

Here’s a pic.went really basic on this batch, but we could do whatever you want.

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i would love to get t-shirts, but would like some different creative designs though. not just a bolt beat shirt.

          • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Now you’re talkin’! I completely agree.

          • Nick Mansoor

I used to have my own clothing brand. I think I can help make that happen

          • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Well… we may be calling on you then ; )

        • Gunnar Martin

Hahaha that is the truth. Let me know when you get one ;)

          • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Will do. Something I have been thinking about since last year. If I can pull it off, it would be special.

NFL.com is reporting the salary cap is going up higher than expected to around $130 mill. People were thinking it would only be around $126 mill but they are reporting that it will likely be higher at $130 mill.
