Larry English Is Still A Charger

Contrary to the report that Larry English‘s contract was voided yesterday, the Chargers are saying that he is still under contract (ESPN). So much for getting rid of dead weight. I guess we are just going to wait for him to get injured all over again.

The Chargers need help getting after the quarterback and that is what English is supposed to be best at. I guess we are putting hope again that he will be healthy. This would be the final season of his rookie deal.

If English is able to stay healthy, he would be used as a pass rush specialist on the defense. He has shown potential, but he never really is on the field long enough to help the team.

We need all the help we can get in the pass rush department. English’s deal is not that pricey, but that money could have gone in a different direction. English will have to contribute to the team this season. If the team wanted to get rid of English, they likely would have let his contract void. He seems to be part of the plan.  SIGH!

Just release him already honestly if he even does stay healthy he’ll get 3 sacks at most release him telesco

  • arnie

Telesco has also stated Gaither an Spikes were Chargers too, until their release. If there is anything to k ow about TT, he is in no hurry, and there is no rush. If something better comes along, bye Larry. If not, they still have another body under contract that can give Melvin, JJ, an Freeney some rest.

  • Derek

He’s a cheap passrusher!! And all around good depth when healthy!! U guys act like we’re in a jets mark Sanchez situation or a ravens flacco predicament

    • boltingindiego

key point when healthy hes hasn’t had a full healthy season since his rookie year. hes played 52 games in 5 seasons.

      • Derek

Noted but my thoughts are till we can find a better guy keep him. He knows our system and can perform in it if needed. Trust me tourek would have not out played him.

  • Nick Mansoor

man i though Ryan Mathews was fragile, but damn, Larry english is just made out of glass. release him and sign someone, anyone who can at least play for more than 2 games a season.

  • Peter Thompson

This still doesn’t mean they won’t eventually release him… but, if they don’t, I’m ok with it. We had bad luck with injuries to our OLB’s across the board this season. Ingram, Freeney, Johnson, English, Keiser, and Williams… that really isn’t a bad bunch, if healthy. IF.

Besides, then you can take a safety, a guard, a cornerback, a wide receiver, a back up running back, a depth MLB, and a return guy. Get a NT in free agency.
