When Will the Chargers REALISTICALLY Have A Shot at the Super Bowl?

REALISTICALLY. Not in your make believe land of rainbows and gum drops. When will the Chargers have a realistic chance at getting to the Super Bowl?

Honestly, they can make it next season. The AFC is not that good right now and the Chargers can get there. They play the Denver Broncos tough in every game and we should be adding more talent on the defensive side of the ball in the offseason.

As long as Philip Rivers is the quarterback of this team, the Chargers will have a shot at making things happen and getting into the playoffs and winning some games in the Super Bowl. As good as the Seahawks defense is, teams still need strong play from the quarterback position and Philip Rivers is able to provide that for the Chargers.

The Chargers have the ability to beat all the teams in the AFC. The Patriots are starting a downfall. The Broncos will likely come down to earth a little bit more this season. We beat the Chiefs twice last season.

We have a shot and we are not that far away.

What are you thoughts? When will the Chargers have a realistic shot at getting to the Super Bowl?

Side note… we probably would have gotten rocked by the Seahawks as well in the Super Bowl.

When we can rely on the D to compete with elite offenses

      Oh that defense!

  • ECAVILLE/Ace of Spades

With the right moves in this off season, Chargers are likely to take it all because they just can. I believe they will. Expectations this season were met for me personally and this next season will be the same. No love from no one else but true Chargers fans and a whole butt load of bandwagoners bye the end of the season. Everything Matters!

This year we went 9-7. And we lost 3 close games, that we should have won…. Houston, Tennessee, Washington. If we get a little better next year and win those ’3 close games’ that would make us 12-4 and a solid playoff team.

I believe with the current GM and coaching staff that this team will get better. The offense this year was good. The defense struggled at times, but we saw growth from young players as the season progressed. If we can add a few pieces to the defense with a good draft, the defense could be a much improved unit.

Also, we will need to avoid the injury bug… that haunted us a little this year.

My prediction would be 12-4 for next year. I beleive we can play with any team in the AFC, so AFC champs is a possibility.

I’m not sure how we would play against the Hawks or Niners in a Super Bowl, but lets get there first…

Can’t see it this year. Patriots, Seahawks coming to us and us going to Cardinals, Niners and Ravens as well as Broncos anf Chiefs. Think the easiest away games are Raiders and Bills. Rest are tough. And can we stop AP and the Vikings? Maybe. . .9 wins max.

Realistically, two or three years, maybe four. But the NFL really isn’t all that realistic sometimes. We still have a solid shot at it this year if we make the right moves in the offseason.

I think we should Start Cromartie along with Sharese Wright

Ya know I was convinced for a little bit this year that WE were the team of destiny like the Ravens and Giants before us. I mean, look at what we did…won out, while our competition lost out. We finally did what we were supposed to do and it all fell into place so much that it got weird. Not every team has a franchise QB and VERY FEW have one on the level of PR17. Our team’s only getting better with another draft, so I say we are going to the big one in 2014 or 2015. The window is back open, my dudes.
