The San Diego Chargers will not be skipping out of town for the 2014 season. They will not exercise their out clause in the offseason and they will continue to work on a solution for football in San Diego.

The team has the ability to exercise an out clause on the stadium and the could move the team somewhere. The biggest threat is Los Angeles, but that won’t be happening in the 2014 season though.

If the team is going to stay in San Diego though, the city and team will have to figure out a solution for a stadium. Qualcomm Stadium is out of date and the team does not want to spend the money to get it back up to date.

We have one more season with the San Diego Chargers in the city of San Diego. Here is info from Ben Higgins:

the city could have put aside a savings account and probably could have had the money by now to pay cash.

You just posted a completely ignorant remark and it shows you know nothing about this situation.

The Chargers are NOT going anywhere any time soon. There are NO shovel ready stadium sites except for the City of Industry site that could accept an NFL franchise, and that site will not be built until a franchise commits to it. The stadium issue in San Diego is a dead horse and we should stop kicking it down the road. The city of San Diego is bankrupt and owes the pension plan 2.3 billion dollars and with that is the water pipes breaking all the time the voters will not vote to help pay for construction of a sports facility especially since Qualcomm is doing the job. Joe lunch bucket does not know about all the under lying issues concerning the building out of the downtown site or in remodeling the Qualcomm site.

We need the city to rally and help negotiate a realistic plan for a new facility. maybe this chick could come help…
