San Diego Chargers Will Likely Bring Back Danario Alexander

The San Diego Chargers need help at the wide receiver position. Keenan Allen was a stud for the whole season, but there was not a lot of production from the other receivers on the roster. Malcom Floyd could be returning from a neck injury and that would be a big boost. Another player that could add a spark is Danario Alexander.

Alexander is a free agent in the offseason and is returning from an injury as well. The team will likely bring him back for another season, per Kevin Acee. He is still young (25) and has a lot of potential.

The Chargers should take the risk on him. Because of his injury history, he won’t demand a high price in free agency. Alexander already has shown a ton of potential for the Chargers, working with Philip Rivers on offense a couple of seasons ggo. If he can stay healthy, he would likely start opposite of Keenan Allen on offense and could be moved around to all the different receiver positions on the field. He can move to the slot and he can play out wide. He can create yards after the catch  and he would be able to make plays down the field. He is a dynamic receiver.

IF Alexander and Allen are healthy, that would be one fun receiving pair to watch. Touchdowns for days!

With M80 most likely being done, why not bring Dx back for a season?

  • navw21

I’d like him to come back. If he could stay healthy it would really help our Red Zone efficiency.

Just keep Shareece Wright, and Jahleel Addae away from him. Those two love taking out their own players. Love the enthusiasm but SAME TEAM, YO!!!!

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

how many guys did addae knock out on Sunday?!?!? pretty sure addae was in on the play where Butler got his concussion also!

      • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

You know those shooting range simulations they use for cops, where they have a bunch of bad guys popping out at you, and then suddenly pop out a little girl with schoolbooks? They need to do that with those two… except use players from other teams, and then pop out Charger players… hahaha.

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

          right… lightning bolts… dont hit!

    • Cgoodness13

No kidding lol, i think Addae could be our future star SS

      • Conor Cahill

I agree actually, for an undrafted rookie he showed A LOT of promise. Better than Gilchrist who was actually a star SS in college.

  • Joel Ayala

X is a beast when healthy. What MM needs to do during training Camp and OTA’s is keep X away from contact til pre season. minimize risk of him getting hurt. lol. but I hope this guy stays healthy again.

Don’t even put him in during preseason!

  • bpd715

    bring that MFer back LOL

  • Gunnar Martin

There isn’t a reason not to bring him back on a cheap contract. Can’t wait to see him play again. When he and Philip connect it’s a thing of beauty.

  • Cgoodness13

A year off should have did him some good, think this is a good move. We need someone else besides Allen who can make a play at that position. Think DA and Allen will be our starters but when we have 3+ WRs on the field Allen moves to slot and Floyd takes his place. And Royal can now be a return specialist. This assuming Floyd comes back…

  • chargersfanfromswitzerland

actually this is a no brainer to me!!!!! imagine our offense with a healthy DX… wuuhuuu gonna be fun to watch!!

    • chargersfanfromswitzerland

      and hopefully M80 of course…

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

from switzerland?! is there a lot of football fans out there?

It does seem like a no brainer for sure.

      • chargersfanfromswitzerland

nope, unfortunately not that much! its just me and a couple of friends, we watch the early games on sundays together via gamepass and play fantasy!
but the community is growing, slowly but growing! :)

aand iam the only chargers fan here, after laughing at me the last couple of years, my friends became a liitle more quiet after this season!!
        good times are coming…! :)

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

nice!! must be good times out there for sure. maybe you can get more people to jump on the bandwagon

          • Nick in PB

Yay for the Charger fan from Switzerland!

  • Nick in PB

OMG… id DX could come back and be healthy, wow, what a dynamic duo that would be for the Chargers… him and Allen!!! Remember when DX first got here? He picked things up immediately and was a star player! Damn those knees! I hope they are not going to hinder him next season.

  • RX

Love to have DX back!! Absolutely !!
