Chargers Grant Titans Permission To Interview TE Coach Jason Michael

The San Diego Chargers have granted permission to Ken Whisenhunt and the Tennessee Titans to interview TE Coach Jason Michael for the offensive coordinator vacancy in Tennessee, per Michael Gehlken. Whisenhunt will be calling the plays, but Michael would be brought onto their staff as the offensive coordinator…. however that works.

Michael was a holdover from the Norv Turner coaching staff. He has coached with the Chargers for the last few seasons. He took over the position when Rob Chudzinski took the offensive coordinator position in Carolina. Whisenhunt won’t be able to bring any of the coaches over with him to Tennessee unless he is granted permission from the Chargers.

Chargers OL Coach Joe D’Alessandris should be staying put. There are a lot of people that are worried about losing a ton of the coaches, but Joe D and Frank Reich should be sticking around. Why would the Chargers allow them to interview?

With Ken Whisenhunt heading over to Tennessee, he likely will want to bring over some familiar faces with him. That is why Jason Michael’s name is coming up. We may lose a few guys on the coaching staff, but it would only happen if the Chargers allowed it. Maybe we just don’t mind losing some of these guys.

Correction Ernie, Jason Michael was brought in by norv, to replace Rob Chudinski departure. Aside from that if you think he did an outstanding job, with the TE, then he is a loss. I don’t think the TE play was outstanding particularly the “ball security”. If it’s problem it needs to be adressed in practice. The results on the field say it wasn’t. With that said, Buh-bye.

good call.. will make that correction

I wonder if we get rid of Ron Milus or let him stay so that he and the DBs retain some stability.

Milus gets a small pass. Pagano took FOREVER to permanently bench Cox, & put Marshall in. Shareece was still growing, Patrick was always getting hurt, and Butler was a joke. Gilchrist finally got moved back, & things ran more smoothly.

The jury is still out for me…. I’ll wait an see.

Can’t this goof find his own staff and stop taking ours? He was with Arizona…he should go look over there.

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Agreed. Stop sniffing the Chargers seats, & build your own staff.

If an employee of yours has an opportunity to move up…. you would be a total dirtbag, to not let him interview for that opportunity.

Remember… its a family in Chargers Park.

I have said this too. However, UnWisenhunt can fuck off here… not that I really care if Michael goes.. TE end coaching was awful this season.

in general- does it really matter? and if so, keep that in mind when we “steal” other team’s coaches for our “family.” they do it- we do it. that is all.
